About this property

A stone-built property wonderfully converted from a former boat building workshop, Plosh House offers six guests a beautiful dwelling including many contemporary conveniences whilst retaining the traditional character of the property, originally built around 1840.

Benefitting from a unique location, just a stone's throw from the centre of Keswick in the Lake District, yet tucked away in a private location, with its own parking and enclosed garden. Built over two floors, the furnishings throughout the property are high-quality and stylish, with Farrow & Ball colours, original wood and slate floors, and the added benefit for underfloor heating throughout.

Step into the front door through the stone porch leading to the stunning open-plan living space where bespoke kitchen units, granite worktops, and a range cooker will all surely catch your eye, as well as plush seating to relax on and a Smart TV to watch, and a breakfast bar and dining area. A handy utility area boasts a washing machine and tumble dryer, with a cloakroom also on the ground floor, along with a lovely king-size bedroom with en-suite WC. Travel upstairs, holding the handrail made from a pair of original oars, leading onto the first floor where a large gable ceiling rests above the Mediterranean styled sitting room, with three windows to illuminate the room and a Juliet balcony, to open up on a sunny day.

Light the woodburning stove up here in the winter months while you enjoy a favourite film on the Smart TV or simply soak up the views out to Causey Pike and Grisedale, with oak stairs leading up to a mezzanine seating area with a desk and Velux windows.

A large family bathroom is home to an impressive freestanding cast iron bath to soak in, while the two remaining bedrooms both boast super-king-size beds, with one able to be a twin on request and featuring a Juliet balcony and a beautiful en-suite shower room.

Spend time in the wonderful enclosed garden when you're not out exploring, with a south-facing aspect for enjoying all the sun in the summer months and a gazebo when you need shade.

Venture into the town centre of Keswick which is just a short stroll away, and discover streets lined with shops, both independent and well-known favourites, along with pubs and restaurants to sample delicious food. Derwentwater is a hub for sailing and watersports like paddle-boarding and kayaking, with boat and equipment hire available locally you can begin your own adventure on the water, admiring the beautiful scenery as you go.

Enjoy a walk around the lake or a cycle if you prefer dry land, heading down to excellent viewpoint spots like Surprise View at the southern end of the lake. Castlerigg Stone Circle makes more a lovely ramble, while the two larger challenges of Skiddaw and Blencathra are great for a day's walk reaching the summits for impeccable scenery. A scenic drive can bring you up to Bassenthwaite, Mirehouse & Gardens, Ullswater, and Scafell Pike, so there's plenty to keep everyone entertained.

Enjoy a special break to the Lakes staying at the unique Plosh House.

Keswick is a pretty town resting in the heart of the Lake District National Park, resting north of the beautiful Derwentwater, and south of Bassenthwaite Lake. Discover independent shops and businesses along the quaint streets, along with traditional pubs and a range of restaurants and eateries. Enjoy sailing on the lake, trying out new watersports, as well as embarking on a number of glorious walks with incredible views to be experienced along the way.
