Everything you would need for a comfy stay was provided and a very helpful information book had been thoughtfully put together. We can’t fault the cottage. For us, the location was too remote and the single track roads and walking paths were perhaps more suited to serious walkers rather than someone using it as a base to discover the wider area. The pub next door was a god send and they delivered plated meals to the cottage when the restaurant was full. They answered all our queries and went above and beyond during our stay. We would absolutely recommend the cottage but be aware it is a 20 minute drive to a “proper” road and driving on these roads is not for the faint hearted!

We left our holiday four days early. Please can you give me an email to send photos. The house was covered in mould on most walls. The shower was broken. The water for a bath was constantly brown from the water tank. The flower pots were all full of dead weeds. The only relief was the bed where we could get off the very dirty carpets. The only cottage we have ever stayed at where apparently allowing dogs means the guests are quite happy to have a holiday with no expectations of cleanliness at all. Bitterly, bitterly disappointed. And after reading through reviews back to 2022, it is apparent that people were saying the cottage wasn’t up to standard. A real case of taking people’s money and not expecting to deliver anything back. Plus points - the pub. Super food and drink and amazing staff.

Beckfold cottage is just what I wanted, very comfortable, excellent facilities, great location for plenty of walks with the dogs and the added bonus of a good sized garden. Good to have the pub close by, great food and friendly staff.
