Snaptrip says

Bracken Ground is a well-received holiday cottage in Cumbria, praised for its spaciousness, comfortable beds, and beautiful surroundings. Guests enjoy the well-equipped kitchen, generous welcome hamper, and the added luxury of a hot tub and sauna. The property's secluded woodland setting provides a peaceful retreat with direct access to walks, although some guests note it's a bit remote. While there are mentions of minor maintenance issues and suggestions for improvements, the overall experience is one of relaxation and enjoyment, making it a favoured choice for families and groups.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property generally receives positive remarks on cleanliness, with guests finding it tidy upon arrival. However, a few guests noted areas that required additional cleaning, such as kitchen utensils and dead flies. These seem to be isolated incidents rather than a common trend.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and natural beauty, with private grounds and woodland walks. It is described as peaceful and perfect for a relaxing holiday. The remoteness is appreciated by many, though it may not suit those looking to be closer to the main Lakes area.

Guests frequently compliment the comfort of the property, highlighting the cosy beds and spacious living areas. The house is described as warm and inviting, with a well-stocked kitchen contributing to the overall comfort. Some guests mentioned varying temperatures in rooms and the need for firmer pillows.

The facilities, including a hot tub and sauna, are a highlight for many guests, despite some reports of maintenance issues like a broken sauna door and a smaller hot tub than expected. The kitchen is well-equipped, but there are repeated mentions of the need for a new oven and additional cooking utensils.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident from the welcome hamper mentioned by several guests, which adds a personal touch to the stay. While these gifts are greatly appreciated, it is important to note that such offerings are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Very well designed for optimal comfort and style . Very thoughtful welcome pack including bottle of wine and cake . We celebrated our 50 wedding anniversary there with the family so was a nice addition. Would highly recommend. Beautifully tucked away for calming holiday but close by to the beautiful lakes at Coniston and Windermere. Perfect

It’s spacious, clean, warm, quiet and the beds are comfy. The hot tub and sauna are great to relax in. Dogs are safe in the grounds. It’s our favourite location to stay in with our dogs.
