Guests say

Guests are generally pleased with Archie's, praising its ideal location, spaciousness, and suitability for families and dogs. The property's well-equipped nature and en-suite bedrooms are highlights, contributing to a comfortable stay. Some concerns about furniture comfort and maintenance issues are noted, but the quick response from maintenance and the overall experience tend to be positive.

Cleanliness scores highly, with many guests finding the property well-presented. However, some guests reported dust, cobwebs, and pet hair, indicating room for improvement. The presence of a welcome basket is appreciated, suggesting attention to detail, but the occasional oversight in cleaning detracts from the overall experience.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to Ambleside's amenities and the Lake District's attractions. Guests appreciate the convenience and the bonus of on-site parking. The property's location contributes significantly to the positive reviews.

Comfort receives a good score, with guests enjoying the spacious rooms and comfortable beds. However, some guests found the sofas and certain beds less comfortable, and there were comments about a lack of warmth in some rooms. Overall, the property provides a comfortable stay with minor areas for improvement.

Facilities are generally well-received, especially the well-equipped kitchen and en-suite bathrooms. However, issues with water pressure, hot water availability, and heating control are noted. Maintenance responds quickly to problems, but recurring issues suggest a need for better upkeep.

The property's thoughtfulness is evident in the provision of a welcome basket and toys for children, which guests find delightful. While these gestures are appreciated, it is important to note that such amenities may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

Lots of thoughtful extras e.g. games, umbrellas, dvds, welcome basket. Issues: it was far too hot and the heating was locked on timers. We tried to turn off the underfloor heating in the lower ground floor but it didn’t go off. The steps to the garden are so slippery when wet that they are dangerous.

It is well positioned near to all the facilities of Amberside. The house is exceedingly comfortable and well appointed.

Bedrooms beautifully furnished and extremely well stocked kitchen The only drawback we found that it would have been very handy to have had a small cloakroom toilet downstairs to use during the day.
