Snaptrip says

Guests generally appreciate the Loughrigg Suite for its stunning views, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped kitchen. The property's location is praised for its proximity to Ambleside and scenic walks, despite the challenging access road. While the apartment's cleanliness and comfort receive positive remarks, there are recurring concerns about maintenance issues such as leaks and non-operational lift, which affect the overall experience.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with guests noting its immaculate condition upon arrival. However, there was an isolated mention of a greasy pan left in the oven, suggesting a slight oversight.

The location is highly praised for its beautiful views and proximity to local attractions and walks. The peaceful and quiet setting is appreciated, although the steep access and challenging driveway are noted.

Guests find the apartment comfortable, with special mentions of the quality of the bed and seating. However, some guests mention the firmness of the mattress and pillows, and the heat in the apartment during warmer days, which suggests comfort could be improved for some.

The facilities, including the kitchen and bathroom, are generally well-regarded. Nonetheless, several reviews cite issues with maintenance such as leaks, a non-operational lift, and problems with the washing machine, which detract from the overall functionality of the apartment.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

About this property

Looking for a luxurious place to stay in a tranquil setting but close enough to walk into Ambleside town centre? This gorgeous, second-floor two-bedroom apartment with glorious views, is sure to fit the bill. Loughrigg Suite, converted within a magnificent nineteenth century Vicarage, really is very special. A beautifully appointed apartment set in acres of wooded grounds and surrounded by love-ly countryside with stunning views across the Rydal Valley to the dramatic Fairfield Horseshoe. Drive through the security gateway up to the parking area. As you get out of the car, pause for a moment to take in the impressive Victorian house and the breath-taking countryside around you. Take the short walk to the main entrance, then climb the sweeping grand staircase to your apart-ment. Walk into your attractive, comfortable sitting room with dining area, where you will find in-teresting roof lines and exposed beams. You will be drawn to the gorgeous turret windows, where you will discover panoramic views of the acclaimed Fairfield Horseshoe. This room really does have the wow factor. Its high ceiling, top quality fabrics and co-ordinating colours gives it a lovely light and relaxing ambience. Walk a few steps down into your lovely open plan fitted kitchen and take in another fine view from the window. Have your cereal at the breakfast bar or create an evening meal to enjoy with your favourite drink at the stylish dining table. Stroll around the beautiful wooded grounds, sit on one of the garden seats to admire the views and wildlife. If you feel more active, play tennis on the shared tennis court or head out to explore the imposing countryside. There are many wonderful walks from your doorstep, to suit all abilities; a ten-minute easy downhill stroll takes you over a charming stone bridge then through Rothay Park into Ambleside or head out for a more challenging day exploring the splendid Lakeland fells.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.

Perfect situation for exploring the lakes and for popping in to Ambleside for dinner. Excellent!

During some windy nights the metal doors in the scaffolding would bang. We didn't think 10% off was sufficient for this. The communications I had with Lakelovers about this was very slow and poor. Also, I raised about the sky satellite tv not working. Someone came round and said it was probably the dish but then we never heard from Lakelovers about it again so had no satellite tv channels all week.

Great location; only a short walk from the centre of Ambleside, plus in easy reach of several great walks, right on your doorstep. Access was easy, and all info needed was in the folder inside the flat. Stunning views too.
