Plumblands is a well-regarded cottage in Ambleside, praised for its excellent location with easy access to local walks and amenities. Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings, well-equipped kitchen, and the stunning views. While some guests mention areas for improvement, such as garden maintenance and minor repair issues, the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and well-maintained, though there were isolated comments about cobwebs and a dirty shower room. The presence of ants in one instance suggests occasional lapses, but these do not appear to be widespread concerns.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to local walks, pubs, and shops. The scenic views and accessibility to various attractions in the Lake District make it an ideal base for exploring the area.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as comfortable, with special mentions of cosy furnishings and comfy beds. However, some noted the need for heating on chilly nights and the lack of drying space for wet clothing.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable living spaces. Criticisms include the need for garden tidying, a more functional BBQ, and better provision for drying wet clothing. Some maintenance issues like broken handles and a leak were also noted.

While many reviews express gratitude for a pleasant stay, there is no specific mention of gifts or extra thoughtful touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to assess this category accurately.

My siblings and I would go for the 6 weeks summer holidays as my mother had died and my dad still had to work so he sent to his sister my auntie Annie. It was a great time for us swimming in the beck and long walks playing in the quarry opposite where Thrang Brow is now built. The house was a lot different then, but it is a lot cosyer now. Really enjoyed our stay and would really like to come back.

Thank you for letting it out. x P.S. We think there is a slight leak from the family bathroom into kitchen that might need fixing before it gets too big an issue.

Overall the cottage perfect for what we needed and a great base. It was comfortable and plenty of space for the 5 of us. There were a few little things that let the cottage down... the garden was quite overgrown and the paths full of weeds which made it quite slippy when wet, the downstairs shower room was dirty on our arrival and there were quite a lot of old cobwebs etc on the walls and ceilings... But overall a fabulous week spent in our happy place
