Snaptrip says

Rothay Holme Cottage in Ambleside is a well-situated, spacious property with a charming character and ample storage. Guests appreciate its proximity to local amenities and the bonus of parking spaces. The cottage's open-plan layout and large bathrooms are highlights, and the inclusion of a log burner adds to its cosy appeal. While some guests mention maintenance issues, the property's location and overall comfort are frequently praised.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cleanliness of the cottage has received mixed feedback. Some guests found it very clean, while others noted areas that could benefit from more thorough cleaning, such as cobwebs and dirty windows. The presence of mould in bathrooms was mentioned, indicating room for improvement.

The location of the cottage is highly praised for its convenience to Ambleside and the Lake District, with easy access to local attractions and amenities. The availability of parking is a significant plus, contributing to the property's appeal.

Comfort levels are generally good, with spacious rooms and a warm atmosphere. However, some guests found the seating inadequate for the number of occupants, and the beds and sofa received mixed reviews regarding their comfort. The steep staircase to the second-floor bedroom was noted as a potential issue for some.

Facilities are well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and large bathrooms. However, maintenance issues such as heating problems, a lack of shower facilities in one bathroom, and the need for a tumble dryer have been highlighted. The garden areas also require attention.

While some guests were disappointed by the absence of a welcome pack, which is often appreciated in holiday rentals, there is not enough information to determine if this is a consistent issue across all stays. Therefore, a score cannot be provided, and guests should note that such amenities are not guaranteed.

Being able to walk from the front door was just what we wanted. The property is really comfortable and we would be happy to return. The ‘enclosed gardens’ do not include grass, which with a small dog was a requirement but actually we were close to an area we could take her of an evening, so it wasn’t a problem. I have emailed directly but for info the guttering at the back of the house needs some maintenance and there are no instructions about what day to put the bins out (a neighbour I think kindly did this for us) and what we should do with the bedding and towels on the day of leaving. None of these impacted our stay but would be useful for future guests. We would be happy to recommend this property and will be back!

Lovely cozy property with good parking facilities but could do with some maintenance eg windows frames, overgrown front and back garden. Would definitely not have any issues with staying there again.

Had a lovely stay in one of my most favourite places on earth. Centrally situated in Ambleside so easy to get to anywhere in town by foot and by car you can explore with ease. Definitely booking again when I plan my next visit.
