Guests say

Elterwater is a well-received cottage in Windermere, praised for its good location, views, and well-equipped nature. Guests appreciate the comfortable bed, excellent shower, and the kitchen's adequacy for in-house dining. The property serves as a great base for exploring the area, with good transport links and proximity to local attractions. Some guests noted minor maintenance issues and parking challenges, but these did not detract significantly from the overall positive experience.

The reviews do not explicitly mention cleanliness, but the absence of negative comments and the mention of a 'clean and well-designed house' suggest that guests found the property to be clean and well-kept.

The location is highly praised for its views and proximity to local amenities, restaurants, pubs, and shops. It is also noted as a quiet position, ideal for exploring the area, which indicates a very positive reception of the location.

Comfort is generally rated highly, with positive remarks about the bed and bath. However, some guests mentioned a chilly ground floor bedroom and less comfortable seating, which slightly lowers the score.

Facilities are well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and good amenities. However, points are deducted for maintenance issues such as internet problems, a broken knife, and a missing part of the vacuum cleaner.

There are no mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches in the reviews provided, so it is not possible to assess this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

Everything that we needed was there. Set in a good quiet position for getting about, with good transport links and also great for the lovely walks. Would definitely visit again

Long wait on the phone to contact the maintenance department. (Phone button pressing choices) We wish there was a human being at the end of the phone. Steps leading from the parking bay to the cottage. (Not ideal for elderly or wheelchair users)

Good location, good views. Great bath and bed. Good supply of utensils. The parking is awkward and would be far to tight for 2 cars. Internet initially wasn’t working. Small knife end was broken off. Pedal bin on its last legs. Part of Henry the hoover was missing. Annoying humming noise all night that could be heard from the bedroom, possibly from address at the rear. 2 seated sofa not comfy and small chair pointless. Despite the negative points the property is good and I would return..
