Guests say

Halewood is a well-received holiday cottage in Windermere, praised for its comfortable accommodation, spacious garden, and excellent location close to local attractions. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, ample parking, and dog-friendly environment. While some guests noted a lack of kitchen equipment and freezer facilities, the property's charm and convenience have led to repeat visits and strong recommendations.

Most guests found Halewood clean and well-presented, with a few noting exceptional cleanliness. However, some guests reported issues with dust, dirty skirting boards, and a few instances of substandard cleaning, which slightly lowers the score.

The location is highly praised for being close to Bowness, the lake, and local amenities, making it an ideal base for exploring the Lake District. Its convenience for dog walks and the town centre contributes to a high score.

Guests consistently mention the comfort of the beds and the spaciousness of the rooms. The property is described as comfortable and well-equipped, although some guests noted worn furniture and the lack of a freezer, which slightly affects the comfort level.

The property is appreciated for its utility room, garden, and parking. However, several reviews mention the absence of a freezer and a lack of kitchenware like frying pans and baking trays, indicating room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

Guests have mentioned welcome packs and refreshments, which indicate a level of thoughtfulness. However, as these gifts are not consistently referenced and their provision is not guaranteed, the score reflects this variability.

everything was of a very good standard . I missed a frying pan and freezer . the oven only worked once we managed without I didn't like the bed frames it was too easy to knock yourself on them in the 2 smaller rooms . there was damp in the back bedroom , I would like to see a house without damp at the moment with all the rain and wind we are having! but non of the above would stop me going back its a lovely cottage

Very comfortable accommodation. Very very clean and well presented (unlike other comments) Only negative feedback would be that a frying pan/wok would be good, so that guests do not have to try and cook things like a stir fry in lovely (but impractical) cast iron casserole dish. I had planned all our meals prior to arriving and so when our Tesco shop arrived it was tricky to cook some of the meals.

A gardner came to cut the lawns during our stay but checked we were not sitting out .The position of this lovely home was perfect being a short walk to the lake and beautiful surroundings .I recommend Halewood for a holiday in Bowness on Windemere .
