102 The Beach is a charming cottage in Norfolk, praised for its tranquil location with stunning sunsets and abundant birdlife. Guests appreciate the peaceful environment, ideal for nature lovers and those seeking a break from the hustle and bustle. While some guests mention limited storage and the need for minor maintenance, the unique 'off-grid' experience and thoughtful welcome hampers contribute to a memorable stay.
Reviews indicate a generally clean environment, with some guests noting areas for improvement such as cobwebs and dust. However, the majority of guests found the property clean upon arrival.
The property's location is highly praised for its quietness, proximity to the sea, and opportunities for birdwatching and beach walks. The stunning views and peaceful setting are consistently highlighted as major positives.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the property cosy when heated, but some report issues with maintaining warmth due to the reliance on a wood burner and portable gas heater. The property's 'glamping' nature may not suit everyone.
Facilities are described as adequate but limited, with some guests experiencing issues with the solar-powered electricity and heating. Maintenance concerns such as dampness and the need for exterior paint are mentioned, though the unique setting often compensates for these shortcomings.
Many guests express gratitude for the welcome hampers provided, which add a personal touch to their stay. While these gifts are appreciated, it is noted that they are a bonus and not a guaranteed feature of the property.

Snettisham is a traditional Norfolk village, with many of its houses built from the local iron-rich carr stone, which has an attractive golden-brown colouring. Due to this, the buildings are known locally as “gingerbread houses”. Village amenities include general stores, a Post Office, 2 inns, a bistro and a regular bus service to the bustling, family-friendly seaside resort of Hunstanton and historic King’s Lynn. The church of St Mary sits alone on top of the hill and is certainly worthy of a look inside at the exquisitely decorated tracery flowers on the west window. There is an rspb bird sanctuary close to the beach, which is three miles away, and the ancient Peddars Way public footpath runs near to the village. Park Farm is on the edge of the village, and is a working farm with year-round activities for all the family, including a 45-minute “deer safari” and the chance to feed some of the animals. The Royal Estate of Sandringham, whose impressive house, gardens and church are open to the public, is nearby, as are the plant farm, tea rooms and gift shop at Norfolk Lavender, England's premier lavender farm.

The wood burner was easy to operate and the portable gas fire was useful in the mornings, (refill gas cylinder available at BP garage also nearby £45) We enjoyed the "off grid" life. A wonderful holiday for two keen birdwatchers just a short walk to the RSPB reserve to the south and Wild Ken Hill to the north. If you want to see the spectacle of thousands of Knot, and many other waders that overwinter in the Wash leaving the mud as the tide comes in check the tide times! We hope to return!
Karen
We came well prepared with more wood, lights and power banks.

Watching the tides and the Oyster catchers, golden plovers and knots just from your front door was amazing. And then again as dusk approaches. Although the lighting is solar panelled ,this time if year it doesn't charge. I found myself on my own in total darkness from 5 pm as the clocks had just changed backwards. There are torches but not enough to beable to read or crochet. The last night I went to the Theatre in Hunstanton which was much better. The road through the caravan site is diabolical so not good to drive or walk in the dark.
