This truly delightful stone-built end-terrace cottage is located in a quiet corner of the pretty Pennine town of Middleton-in-Teesdale. Situated just four miles from the absolutely stunning High Force Waterfall, Hush Cottage has been renovated to a very high standard and provides a wonderful tranquil retreat for a couple to get away from it all, recharge the batteries and enjoy this beautiful area of the North Pennines. The interior of Hush Cottage has been stylishly restored and elegantly decorated with fine attention to details throughout, with a beautiful double bedroom with en-suite shower room to the first floor and an open plan living area on the ground floor. The owners have added elegant styling and luxurious little extras such as an AGA woodburner to warm your toes, a Rangemaster cooker for preparing gastronomic delights and gorgeous designer cushions to sink into at the end of a long hard day. Outside your cottage, is a gravelled patio area which is a little sun trap, perfect for getting some fresh air and planning your day's adventures. There is a secure shed ideal for holding muddy boots and bikes to be stored. A short walk from your cottage takes you to the town centre, with many charming pubs, tea rooms and restaurants. The surrounding area is perfect for walking and cycling with many routes providing the chance to enjoy much of the local countryside. For those who prefer to drive, the Northern Dales are waiting to be discovered and visits to medieval Raby Castle with its deer park, Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, High Force Waterfall and Egglestone Hall and Gardens are not to be missed. The pretty Pennine town of Middleton-In-Teesdale lies in the heart of Teesdale, perched on the riverbank in the beautiful Tees Valley. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is a well-served little settlement and offers a good range of shops, pubs and places to eat. For more specialist amenities, the market town of Barnard Castle is within easy driving distance and provides everything a visitor could possibly need. The surrounding countryside is full of excellent walking opportunities through high, open moorland and pretty wooded valleys. Nearby are the waterfalls of High Force and Cauldron Snout, which are often considered to be amongst the most spectacular sights in the district.

Alison, the owner was very obliging, and supplied a very generous welcoming basket of goodies.Our only reservations as an elderly couple was that the stairs were quite steep, and vehicle access difficult. A lovely, cosy cottage.
