Guests say

Sandy Dell is a well-received cottage, praised for its superb location near the beach and comfortable bedding. It's ideal for various age groups and dog-friendly, offering a cosy stay with a well-equipped kitchen. The property's thoughtful touches, such as a welcome gift and outdoor sink for sandy feet, add to its charm. Some guests noted cleanliness issues and maintenance concerns, but these were balanced by the property's many positives.

Guests have had mixed experiences with cleanliness. While some found the property clean and comfortable, others noted it was not very clean, particularly behind and under furniture, and mentioned an unclean annex. The toilet carpet was also reported to have an unpleasant odour.

The location is consistently praised as excellent, being adjacent to the beach and within easy reach of local amenities and attractions. It's perfect for a range of activities and provides a quiet, restful environment.

The majority of guests found the beds and bedding to be incredibly comfortable, contributing to a cosy and relaxing stay. However, there were some concerns about the annexe shower's temperature fluctuations.

The property is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, but there were issues with missing instructions for appliances and a small dishwasher for larger groups. The annexe shower was also noted to need improvement.

The property's thoughtful touches, such as a welcome gift and an outdoor sink for cleaning, were appreciated by guests. However, it should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be provided consistently.

We had a fabulous week at Sandy Dell as an extended family group (five adults, one teenager, three children between 4-10 and one large dog), and couldn't fault the property or the stunning location - the closest to the beach we have ever stayed, perfect for morning dog walks, daytime sandcastle building with the kids and even an evening dip on the hottest day of our trip. The bungalow was cosy and comfortable with plenty of parking, and had everything we needed for a relaxing family holiday, the little 'sink' outside the back door for washing sandy feet and beach kit was a very useful touch and the children loved the garden and the window seat. Beadnell was far enough off the beaten track to be quiet and restful, but still had good places to eat out, and it was easy to get to Alnwick and Seahouses for the big shop and further afield for days out. Finding a big enough property for our group which was also dog-friendly was a challenge, we got very lucky with Sandy Dell and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.
