Guests say

East Farm Croft is a well-regarded cottage in Embleton, appreciated for its excellent location, cosy ambience, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests have enjoyed the proximity to amenities, beaches, and walks, as well as the property's warmth and comfort. While some guests have encountered issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the majority reflect positively on their stay, often highlighting the desire to return.

Cleanliness has received mixed feedback. While some guests found the property well-presented and tidy, others reported cleanliness issues such as dust, dirty floors, and unwashed sofa covers. The presence of both positive and negative comments leads to a slightly above average score.

The location of the cottage is highly praised, with guests appreciating its quiet setting close to local amenities, fantastic beaches, and scenic walks. The village of Embleton is frequently mentioned as a friendly and convenient base for exploring the area.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with a warm and cosy atmosphere, especially due to the Aga in the kitchen. Comfortable beds and a secure garden for pets add to the positive experience, although some guests noted issues with heating and the need for additional comfort items.

Facilities are well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and good parking. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as problematic locks, slow-draining sinks, and a lack of cleaning materials. The mix of positive and negative feedback results in an above-average score.

There is insufficient information to accurately score thoughtfulness. While some guests mentioned a welcome pack, the contents and consistency of these gifts are not clear, and there is no guarantee of such amenities. Therefore, the score is set to null.

Very clean and tidy when we arrived. All the basics required to start your holiday provided. Few minor points/suggestions: No padlock on gate as mentioned in joining instructions. No coat hooks! Could really do with something like this just inside the cottage for coats, towels and dog leads. We didn’t need it but perhaps someone not used to a log burner might appreciate more directions on how to use. Also there needs to be a proper fire glove provided, not the extremely holey two fingered one left. Crockery was a right mismatch. Not enough to fill the dishwasher (which had no cutlery box) so had to be put on more regular than should. Corkscrew is broken and needs replacing. A suggestion book in the accomodation might let managing company resolve issues more quickly? Overall a fabulous stay, now I just have to buy an Aga for home as my wife fell in love with the one in the property.

However, a bit of maintenance and a thoroughly deep clean is needed. The aga isn't powerful enough to heat the living area. We spent a fortune on logs, just to keep warm. Two of the velux windows were open when we arrived, the fridge and electric radiators were all turned off, and please bin the worn sheepskin rugs in the bedroom. But, it is a lovely cottage in a really quiet and private location. It seems it has been sold, so hopefully the new owners will act on some of the longstanding complaints on here. Just a bit more TLC and it will be 5 stars all round.

Yes the gate needs a lick of paint but does that matter! The cottage was clean , warm, with the aga on we didn't need the fire. It's perfectly placed for the beach and the village, the pub is lovely, very dog friendly, we had takeaway fish and chips from the hotel which were the best I've had since the last time we were in Northumberland!
