The cottage offers two beautifully-presented bedrooms; a king-size with views of the pretty gardens and a twin room, which can be converted into a super-king-size on request. Both rooms are tastefully decorated, and benefit from a TV for those lazy mornings in bed.

The property also features a stylish ground-floor shower room with a double walk-in shower, providing an elegant space to freshen up each day.

Outside, the enclosed rear garden with gravel and furniture offers a tranquil spot to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening drink, while listening to the river flowing by and admiring the tranquil surroundings.

From a path running behind the property, guests can enjoy scenic strolls along the Pennine Ways walk, and close by you will find a golf course, ideal for trying out a game or two, and fishing facilities for those wishing for a tranquil afternoon spent seeing what they can catch.

There is an excellent leisure centre with heated open air swimming pool and cycle hire in the town, with pony trekking nearby. One of the best preserved stretches of Hadrian's Wall is only a mile to the north with various museums, forts and milecastles to be seen. There is even an ongoing 'dig' at the nearby site of Vindolanda. This truly is magnificent walking, riding and cycling country, with the Pennine Way and various bridleways and cycle routes passing rivers, forests, castles and of course, Hadrian's Wall. Visitors will enjoy this location in all weather and all seasons – a regular train and bus service from the town to Newcastle, The Metro Centre and Carlisle, means that you can leave the car behind and enjoy!
