    Haltwhistle Holiday Cottages

Haltwhistle is one of two towns in the UK situated exactly in the centre of the island - the other being Dunsop Bridge, some 70 miles south. Holiday cottages in Haltwhistle are primarily stone-built houses - a prominent feature of the town – and are the closest you can stay to Hadrian’s Wall and the Northumberland National Park.

A treasure trove for nature lovers, Haltwhistle cuts through sweeping moors and woodland, sitting along the Haltwhistle-on-the-Tyne Valley Line railway, which is renowned for its scenery. The town centre has a number of quirky pubs, traditional tea shops and restaurants. You’ll also find Northumberland’s only open-air swimming pool – perfect for a dip outside, whatever the weather. Situated just two miles from Hadrian’s Wall, there are often re-enactment and history events held in Haltwhistle and it's popular as a visiting place for school and educational groups as a result.

At Snaptrip, we list thousands of holiday cottages across the UK, with a great selection in Haltwhistle. Every booking is covered by our best price guarantee so you won't find the same property cheaper elsewhere. Our friendly customer service team are available to help should you have any queries.

Had a lovely stay over the Easter weekend and a few days more .

There were 10 of us and there was ample space for us all ......the house was very well equipped and had everything we needed .we had lovely weather and were able to sit out at the back .which had wicker furniture and a lovely big sun umbrella for those wishing to be in the shade .there was parking for two cars but more parking across the road if needed .The property was on the high street so handy for the shops and pubs /fish and chip shops and A great Indian take away .because the weather was so good we took advantage of the out door swimming pool in the village which was great for the grandchildren who had a great time .there was a flume and a small play area .it was in an ideal spot to see the local places of interest and not far from Hexham and Carlisle .would highly recommend

Absolutely beautiful house in a great location.

The sitting room is comfortable and big for the large group with lovely furnishing. The kitchen is great with the huge table where you can all sit together. It would have been nice to have been able to use the log burner for more than one night without having to provide your own logs. Never have I had a house where you were expected to do this, especially in Feb. (Maybe you could factor this in with the price ) Also having to take glass to the recycling bin which was a car journey from the house was a bit of a task. These are not complaints, just something you may wish to consider. We would stay again and we had a great time.

Perfectly located in the town centre, the property was very comfortable for our party of 7 cyclists.

We appreciated the welcome pack of milk, bread etc. The property is very well appointed and smartly decorated, and unlike some places all the crockery, cutlery and glasses were new looking and in proper matching sets, rather than the random jumble of old stuff you get in some holiday rents. There was plenty of room in the kitchen diner for us all and plenty of utensils and cookware of sufficient sizes for larger numbers for producing meals in. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms nicely done. Also lots of space in the courtyard for our bikes. Good communication with the owner. Highly recommended.

Lovely cottage, great location. The owners were very friendly, regularly checked we had everything we needed without being over the top. Sue was happy for the kids to visit the animals (chickens, ducks, horses and emus). When they found out we were driving an EV they offered to let us charge the car overnight (obviously for a fee) if we had any issues getting a charge which was a great comfort blanket. There was lots of great local walking, the walk into Haltwhistle across the fields was a nice way to work up an appetite for the excellent pubs and cafes. We would happily recommend this holiday.

This house is ideal for a large group of family and friends.

It has a well equipped spacious kitchen, that has ample seating for 10 people with room to extend to 12. The sitting area is cosy but again with plenty of seating. Most bedrooms adapt to twins which allows more flexibility on who can stay. The bathrooms are well situated to the bedrooms, they are spacious and give all options for showering or having a bath. The house also benefits from its location. Close to all amenatives, shops, restaurants, pubs and supermarkets. Easy access to Hadrains Wall and close to beautiful countryside. Would return.
