Boasting a superb location and beautiful Grade II listed accommodation, Mid Cote is the perfect holiday destination.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.

We felt we were in the art deco period but with all the 21st mod cons. The home is so well equipped, warm and inviting. Even the summer house was a luxury, to sit and unwind, gazing out to the stars without a care in the world. A peaceful haven in a busy 21st century.

We were met by Ann at the property and she made us feel very welcome. She'd also prepared a very generous welcome pack. The property lived up to our expectations and its quiet location between Seahouses and Bamburgh was ideal for walking and as a base to explore Northumberland.

It is remote enough for peace and quiet but then only 5 mins drive and you can be in the busy town of Seahouses. The Cottage has charm and is well maintained. The beds are comfortable and shower works very well. It is very clean and tidy. I also like the quality of such things like the crockery. It is also a perfect location for the beach which is in walking distance or a short drive away.
