Not only is it within walking distance of all the amenities of the village; the magnificent medieval castle, the pretty riverside and the vast, unspoiled beach, but it sits in the grounds of the owners’ fabulous manicured garden with full use of the private Swedish ‘Kota’ Barbecue House – an amazing feature in all seasons!
This lovely cottage is also ideal for those with reduced mobility or a wheelchair user, as it’s all on one level and has been granted a ‘Level 1 Mobility’ award by Visit England. Excellent property, very well appointed and welcoming. We received a generous food hamper on arrival. The beds were comfortable, warm, and cosy. The location is very private and the private parking was great. We were very satisfied.

Garden Cottage was well worth the research. What a gem! It is no surprise that you won the Gold Award for 2021-2022. The accommodation is delightful in every respect, with so much attention to detail. The welcome hamper was very much appreciated, thank you so much. We spent a wonderful day in Alnmouth, the weather was glorious and the beach walk and views were stunning. The Running Fox in Shillbottle provided us with a superb breakfast, which set us up for the day. We would love to return and explore the area at greater length.
