Guests say

The Old Dairy is a well-equipped, comfortable cottage with super comfy beds, praised for its quiet location and suitability as a base for exploring North Yorkshire. Guests appreciate the thoughtful welcome pack and the comprehensive inventory folder. Some concerns were raised about limited parking and the need for decor updates, but overall, the property offers a pleasant stay with local amenities like pubs and shops nearby.

Guests have not raised any significant cleanliness issues, indicating that The Old Dairy is well-kept. The mention of clean linen and towels suggests a high standard of cleanliness.

The location is ideal for exploring nearby attractions, with local amenities within reach. However, limited parking and the need to walk dogs down the road slightly detract from the convenience.

The property is noted for its comfortable beds and quiet atmosphere, contributing to a restful experience. Some guests mentioned issues with seating outside and non-reclining sofas, which suggests room for improvement.

The Old Dairy is equipped to a high standard with a well-stocked kitchen. However, there are reports of maintenance issues such as TV malfunction, and parking is a challenge, affecting the overall facilities score.

The provision of a welcome pack and a detailed inventory folder reflects a degree of thoughtfulness. It should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Well kept accommodation in a great location to explore the area. Useful guide book with excellent suggestions, (Waterwheel is a good place to eat thanks!).

We enjoyed our stay at The Old Dairy. The property had everything we needed and it was a quiet location with the basics you need for a holiday retreat close by such as a Co-op and a couple of pubs / restaurants. The Mad Alice bar was good for a couple of pints with a friendly but sometimes loud atmosphere and The Reunion Bar was good for food. We took our teenage children to both. Our favourite spots were Sandsend, Saltburn, Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay. Loftus has some good and bad points but a good base for exploring the area. The Old Dairy could do with some updating and freshening up decor wise, repairs to blinds and windows and the front porch could benefit from a clean and a plant or pots with flowers would be more welcoming. Just a bit more attention to detail. On a positive note, the beds were comfy with nice clean linen and lovely thick towels. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed.
