Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the city is that within a very small area there is evidence of every period of history - from the old walls and amphitheatre of Roman times, through medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed town houses and Georgian terraces, to Victorian restorations and 21st century architecture. The City has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping, in the famous 'Rows', and lovely walks within the city boundaries - around the old Roman Walls, along The Groves beside the River Dee or or through the picturesque Grosvenor Park.

    Everything you could possibly need has been provided. It's in an ideal position for visiting Cheshire and North Wales and with a regular bus route into Chester it means not having to always use the car. Rita and Ian were welcoming and friendly and I highly recommend this cottage. I plan to return next year. Thank you.

    Its location met all our requirements as a base to visit local attractions in and around Chester and was quiet and peaceful. It was spotlessly clean and had all the facilities we could possibly have asked for. We received a really warm welcome from our landlady on arrival and she could not have been more helpful. We had an excellent break and would not hesitate in returning in the future.
