The Lodge in Chester is highly praised for its stylish, comfortable interiors and peaceful countryside setting. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, such as welcome gifts and well-equipped facilities. While the approach road's condition and some maintenance issues are noted, the location's convenience and the hosts' hospitality contribute to a positive experience. The property serves as an excellent base for exploring Chester, North Wales, and surrounding areas.
Guests consistently mention that The Lodge is very clean, with only a few isolated comments about dust and spider webs. The overall impression is that cleanliness is maintained to a high standard.
The location is generally appreciated for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions like Chester Zoo and the city. However, some guests mention a bumpy approach road and the presence of a glamping site hosting events as minor drawbacks.
The Lodge is frequently described as comfortable, with a particularly comfortable king-size bed and a peaceful environment. A few guests noted issues with the boiler and mattress, but these seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.
Facilities are generally well-received, with the lodge being well-equipped for guests' needs. Some guests noted the lack of a freezer, issues with the shower drainage, and minor maintenance concerns, which suggests room for improvement.
While many guests mention thoughtful touches like welcome gifts and well-stocked amenities, there are inconsistencies in the provision of these extras, and as such, they cannot be guaranteed for future guests.

Found the accommodation a little cold and could get the heating to rise (we know it a little colder in November, but we should have the facility to increase the temperature - using the controller seem to make little or no different)

Would definitely recommend!

It was so perfect for our particular needs as we were having a 40th birthday celebration for a family member. Not everyone stayed at the site as a few family members live not far away, but for the rest of us (staying in lodge and 3 furnished belle tents) it could not have been better. Each tent has its own private outside area with barbeque so one night we put two together and cooked for everyone staying plus 7 family members who were not staying. At other times the family came diwn to the lodge to have breakfast and get tea, coffee etc. The lode itself is so lovely - a converted stble with lots of compact character. The bed and pillows etc were mega comfy and we had three great noghts sleep. The kitchen was well equipped with extra crockery, cutlery etc which was very helpful. There were books to read and TV towatch but we did not get time for these things, Re cycling facilties good and so much space for the little ones to run around in. Owners helpful but not invasive in any way. It was overall, SUPERB! Very very minor niggles - hob was a bit unreliable as sometimes lit but only limited rings. Shower extractor fan did not seems to work properly but these things did not, in any way, affect our stay. (If it did we would have mentioned it at the time so it could have been addressed) Also, on a side note - communication prior to stay was not very good with emails not answered ( I sent four on the same subject with no reply) and not always easy to get hold of anyone on the phone. As an ex glamping site owner I know the importance of good communication chanels prior to stay or pre booking. Maybe they have other jobs but needs to be addressed. Other than that, a bog THANK YOU AND WELL DONE. Lovely place
