Welcoming six guests and boasting an electric fire, wrap-around decking and close access to the Lake District National Park and North Pennines AONB, Rosie's Chalet is the perfect base for a family getaway in Cumbria. After unloading in the off-road parking spot, cross the threshold into your new home-from-home to be impressed by the light and airy open-plan living space, complete with an electric fire and Smart TV, perfect for indulging a movie night with loved ones. Allow the designated chef of the group to become acquainted with a fantastic range of appliances in the well-equipped kitchen, before settling down at the dining table to tuck into a feast; if you prefer to dine alfresco, why not step out onto the private wrap-around decking area to delight in mealtimes as the sun sets in the distance. When the evening draws to a close, freshen up with use of the shower room or opt for a double bedroom with its very own en-suite so you can get ready for the day in style; an additional two twin bedrooms offers a flexible sleeping arrangement for the whole family. If you can tear yourself away, begin your Cumbrian adventures at Lacy’s Caves and Long Meg and Her Daughters, a wonderful stone circle dating from 1500 BC. A short distance away in Penrith, discover the Penrith and Eden Museum, Penrith Golf Club and Brougham Castle, a magnificent spot to delight in a picnic, tour the grounds and embark on a relaxing stroll. Here you can also enjoy an array of shops, pubs and restaurants where you can refuel with some tasty fare and a cold beverage before continuing onto the Lake District National Park where Aira Force Waterfall, Dalemain Mansion and Historic Gardens and Scafell Pike can all be enjoyed. For a truly unforgettable break in Cumbria, choose Rosies Chalet. Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 1127346, together sleeping up to 12 guests.

Armathwaite, a charming, unspoiled rural community, is ideally situated for exploring the Lake District, Eden Valley, and the stunning Solway Firth shoreline. The community contains a post office, a local shop, and two historic pubs with popular restaurants providing top-notch food. The village's main thoroughfare, the River Eden, is known for its great salmon fishing as well as for walking, canoeing, and climbing. By the river is Armathwaite Castle, a four-story Pele Tower with beautiful stained glass windows in the church from the fifteenth century. One of Cumbria's best-kept secrets is the Eden Gorge, which is between Lazonby and Armathwaite and is definitely worth investigating. The neighborhood's train station is a stop on the Settle-to-Carlisle Railway, one of Britain's most picturesque rail routes, where numerous antique steam trains still wind through some of the country's most magnificent landscapes. The "biggest grass covered building in the country" is the Rheged Discovery Centre in Penrith. Alternatively, you might like visiting Dalemain Historic House, which was the setting for a Jane Eyre television adaptation.
