Rivendale is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and excellent location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, the proximity to local amenities like the community pub and shop, and the property's suitability as a base for exploring the surrounding areas. The thoughtful touches, such as welcome provisions, are also noted. While there are some minor comments about creaky floorboards and seating capacity, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive.
Guests consistently report that Rivendale is very clean, with several reviews specifically mentioning its spotlessness. The high level of cleanliness contributes significantly to the comfort and appeal of the property.
The location is highly regarded for its quiet village setting, proximity to a friendly community pub, and local shop. It is also considered an excellent base for exploring nearby attractions, contributing to its high score.
The property is frequently described as comfortable, with special mentions of comfy beds and seating. However, a few guests noted that the beds could be comfier and that there was not enough seating for the maximum number of guests, slightly lowering the score.
Facilities are generally praised, especially the well-equipped kitchen. However, there are comments about creaky floorboards and a temporarily out-of-action dishwasher, indicating some room for improvement in maintenance.
The owner's thoughtfulness is highlighted through mentions of welcome gifts such as milk, eggs, and treats for children. While these gestures are appreciated, it is important to note that such provisions are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

..lets start with the area...easily 10 out of 10...a lovely place to spend a holiday...the community spirit was first class...friendly neighbours and the community run shop and pub which were right on the doorstep were a joy to use...the shop especially with it's volunteers...always with a happy smile on their faces and so happy to help. the house...almost impossible to find any fault...so much room for two of us downstairs...VERY spacious kitchen and comfy living area and space outside with fantastic view...three nice sized bedrooms would have been ideal for the five guests it is meant for. all in all....this is a place I would recomend and one where I hope to return again soon
