Wynns Cottage in Tideswell is highly praised for its cosy charm, ideal location for exploring the Peak District, and well-equipped facilities. Guests appreciate the cleanliness, comfortable beds, and the proximity to local amenities. While parking and some maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is very positive, with many guests eager to return.

The majority of guests found the cottage to be immaculately clean upon arrival, with only a few isolated comments about minor cleanliness issues such as a blocked shower plug and spider webs. The high level of cleanliness is consistently noted.

The location is frequently highlighted as excellent, with its proximity to local pubs, shops, and walking routes. The village of Tideswell is described as beautiful, and the cottage's position is ideal for exploring the surrounding Peak District.

Guests consistently mention the comfortable beds and cosy atmosphere of the cottage. Some guests found the sofas less comfortable, and there were occasional comments about the cottage's size being perfect for smaller groups.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-stocked kitchen and the inclusion of Netflix. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as a non-working DVD player, blocked shower plug, and inaccuracies in the property description regarding the number of WCs and the location of the keysafe.

While guests express gratitude for the well-appointed cottage and mention personal touches, there is no specific reference to gifts provided by the owner. Therefore, it is not possible to score this category accurately, and guests should note that such gestures, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

About this property

A perfect country cottage in one of the best villages in the Peak District.

In a jumble of cottages just up from the centre of Tideswell is this superb country cottage. It has been carefully decorated and furnished while keeping many of the original features. The cottage has a lounge with glowing log burning stove, attractive dining kitchen, two good size double bedrooms one with a substantial king size bed, a family bathroom, en-suite shower room and downstairs cloakroom with WC. Outside there is a sunny patio with garden furniture.

Wander down into the village and you will find traditional shops, a small supermarket, tearooms, friendly pubs, fish and chip shops and a superb restaurant. Venture a little further and you can be walking besides the River Wye in Water-cum-Jolly Dale or on the Limestone Way heading out across the Peaks.

Of course, Derbyshire's numerous attractions are close-by too. Buxton and its amazing Opera House or Bakewell with its famous Pudding have got to be on your list. Chatsworth House with its beautiful gardens, adventure playground and farmyard is another must. Have an exciting day exploring Castleton's 'Blue John' caverns or perhaps hire a cycle to explore the Monsal or High Peak Trails.

At the end of the day call at one of the village pubs before enjoying the last glass on the cottage's patio.

A beautiful cottage that was very comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed the living area and log fire. The cottage was warm and had plenty of room for the two of us. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. A very quiet and relaxing break enjoying walks in the countryside.
