The use of enclosed paddock just beyond the cottages was great for the dog. Great base for a walking holiday as you can literally set off from the back of the paddock straight on to a footpath and head off on a wonderful circular walk to Horseshoe and Deep Dale. The Church Inn pub is a short walk up the road from cottage and we called in for a drink at the end of our walk.

Communication with Sykes was very good and the cottage manager, Tracey, was very helpful and lovely to deal with. For a cottage with two double bedrooms, it is light on crockery. There are only four mugs, glasses, plates etc. which means a lot of washing up (there is no dishwasher) but this was a small inconvenience. The beds were comfortable, the cottage was warm and the paddock made it perfect for our dog. Overall, we’d recommend.

The cottage has everything you need. The bonus of the paddock is good and the dog loved it. Chelmorton is a good little village ldeally located for visiting the small towns and linking up to the road network for further exploring
