Guests say

The Haven in Buxton is a well-regarded apartment, praised for its prime location, comfort, and cleanliness. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches such as a welcome bottle of wine and milk. It serves as an excellent base for exploring the Peak District & Derbyshire Dales, with its proximity to local amenities and attractions. Despite minor maintenance issues and occasional external building aesthetics, the apartment's modern facilities and homely feel consistently leave a positive impression on visitors.

The majority of guests found the apartment to be very clean and tidy, contributing to a comfortable stay. However, there was a single report of cleanliness issues, which suggests room for improvement but does not overshadow the overall positive feedback.

The apartment's location is highly praised for being quiet yet conveniently close to the town centre, shops, and attractions like the Opera House. Its ease of access and proximity to local amenities contribute to its high rating.

Guests frequently mention the comfort of the apartment, highlighting the cosy bed and quiet environment. Some guests found the furniture to be low or the bed smaller than expected, but these are isolated comments within an otherwise consistent appreciation for the apartment's comfort.

The apartment is well-equipped with modern amenities and kitchen facilities, though there are mentions of minor maintenance issues such as non-stick pans wearing out and difficulty with windows. These small niggles slightly affect the score but do not detract significantly from the overall positive experience.

While many guests express gratitude for the thoughtful gestures like the provision of wine and milk, there is no guarantee that these gifts will be provided to all guests. As such, while the thoughtfulness is appreciated, it cannot be quantified with a score.

Shock to find the only two Windows in Flat covered in scaffolding making the the flat very dark. We had no prior warning of this. Bathroom very dirty, fan full of airs, shower waste blocked, shower head clogged never been cleaned. Shower screen never been cleaned and mould round the sealant of shower tray. The toilet brush dirty. The two seater sofa and matching arm chair were grubby. The lounge lighting very poor. Kitchen toaster had not been cleaned, baking tray dirty, we had to scrub the drinking mugs. On the corner of the building (outside) next to bedroom window was a motion sensor light. This was clearly faulty as opposed to working, came on for 17 seconds and off for 3 seconds all through the night none stop. The light flashing continually through the night through the gap between ceiling and curtains made it difficult sleeping. The bed in our opinion had seen better days. Given the location of the flat which was very good, we enjoyed Buxton very much but with problems with the flat as described we felt it necessary to vacate the flat after 4 nights instead of the 7 we had paid for. We have taken photographs to backup our critic's.
