About this property

Settled in the charming Derbyshire village of Chinley, High Peak, is this lovely end-terrace cottage, 6 Hunters Green Close. Enjoying a superb location on the outskirts of the Peak District National Park and just paces away from the local amenities, 6 Hunters Green Close is a fabulous choice for couples or a family of five. The property benefits from two off-road parking spaces and a rear enclosed garden with patio and furniture, ideal for evenings spent dining alfresco. Be welcomed into the sitting room, where you’ll find plush seating, a Smart TV, and a crackling woodburning stove, a haven to return to after a day of exploring. Continue through to the well-equipped kitchen/diner, where you can rustle up delicious meals, ready to enjoy at the dining table over a celebratory bottle of fizz. Upstairs, you can end your day with a hot soak in the bath or freshen up under the overhead shower, before retiring to one of three well-presented bedrooms, a king-size, a bunk and a single. Wander the village where you will find a well-stocked convenience store, post office, pharmacy, chip shop, pizzeria, bistro and tearoom, as well as the award-winning pubs of The Paper Mill and Old Hall which are just moments away. For a wider selection of amenities, visit Chapel-en-le-Frith, known as the ‘Capital of the Peak’, where you can indulge in Greek cuisine at Kouros Café, hearty pub fare at Into the Woods and The Roebuck Inn, and tapas at Rems Café, Bar and Restaurant. From here, you can easily access the wonders of the Peak District National Park, where you can enjoy a plethora of scenic hikes and bike rides along Jacob’s Ladder, the fascinating Blue John Cavern, exceptional views from Mam Tor, and the tranquil setting of Mermaid’s Pool. Further afield, you’ll find Buxton, home to the Buxton Opera House, Poole’s Cavern, Solomon’s Temple, Buxton Museum & Art Gallery, and the picturesque Buxton Park. Adventure awaits at 6 Hunters Green Close.

Chinley, a small village on the western edge of the Peak District National Park, is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Chinley's proximity to Kinder Scout brings in many hikers, and the village's many pubs, cafes, and restaurants provide for their needs. Serious hikers should make their way east from the village, over the verdant foothills, and up onto the rusty plateau of Kinder's moorland to begin their journey on the Pennine Way or Snake Pass. If you and your family are looking for a more sedate day, head west along the scenic Sett Valley Trail to New Mills, where you'll find the tranquil Torrs Riverside Park. Chapel-en-le-Frith, with its cobbled marketplace and historic old stocks, and Whaley Bridge, with its canal basin and a good selection of local amenities, are both within a short drive from one another and are both wonderful High Peak communities. Castleton, with its famous caverns and Norman castle, and Buxton, with its fabulous Opera House and Victorian architecture and park, are just a short distance away. Ashbourne and Bakewell, two lovely market towns, are also well worth your time. Lyme Park, Chatsworth House, and Haddon Hall are just a few of Derbyshire's many historical gems. Truly, Chinley is an ideal location from which to explore Derbyshire and the Peak District.

Some amazing walks straight from the door. The cottage is very nice, comfortable and lots of space. Could do with a few more items for the kitchen, baking trays, small crockery pots to cook in. A pair of gauntlet gloves would be good for the fire as it gets very hot. Plus a fire companion set to help clean the fire out.

Access was easy with the key safe . The accommodation was very comfortable and had everything we needed. There is parking space for two cars but we just had to be a bit careful in the fairly narrow driveway. The immediate neighbours were very friendly and helpful.
