    Edale Holiday Cottages

The village of Edale sits in the Borough of High Peak in the Derbyshire Peak District and has a population of fewer than 350. Located at the start/end of the UK’s most famous long-distance walking route, The Pennine Way, Edale holiday cottages are often booked by those wanting a short break before or after exploring the surrounding areas.

Edale is a compact village but there are still plenty of amenities for visitors, including a local convenience shop, a café and two popular pubs that are always packed with friendly locals willing to chat over a drink. Edale is also served by a small railway station and the route it sits on, Manchester to Sheffield, is considered one of the most scenic in the UK. The central Moorlands Visitor Centre tourist information store and flagship centre is located in Edale and offers up all the hot gossip on the area, as well as acting as a national hub for moorland research.

Every booking made through Snaptrip is protected by our best price guarantee and, with thousands of holiday cottages in Edale and beyond listed on the site, you’re bound to find a great place to get away.

What our customers say about their holidays

Lovely little cottage with lots of potential.

A few minor issues but worth noting. The soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty so we had to buy our own hand soap not a major issue but I would expect it to be available for us. There was no toilet brush or shower curtain. No washing up sponges provided in the kitchen, just a flannel which wasn't ideal. Appreciate the cottage is old but there are a lot of cobwebs that have blatantly been there for a while and could be dealt with a duster, just makes the place look a little unkempt. Someone's old contact lenses were left on the bedside table which wasn't nice either. Seems there is a lack of attention to detail here compared to other cottages we have stayed at for a similar price. The host did leave us some milk and biscuits which was lovely. It would be good for future guest for the kitchen to have some oil, tin foil, kitchen roll etc. Again something we have had in other stays for a similar price. Overall a pleasant stay, lovely cottage just needs some tweaks from the hosts and it could be amazing.

Good cottage very happy our holiday choice.

Nice and clean and comfortable. We slept on the second floor really comfortable bed and spacious room. Good size smart TV and comfortable sofas in the sitting room. Good sized bathroom Useful maps and information provided. The cottage is just off the road and has its own its designated parking space which is really useful in peak district villages no carrying your luggage up hills and beyond. There is a road nearby but it did not impact on our holiday at all. Ideally placed to visit other areas in the peak district There are plenty walks straight from the door. We had a nice walk through to Castleton. 3 pubs in the village all are very good. Chippy good too and a nice bakery Friendly locals too Milk, wine , tea, sugar and coffee all provided, thankyou. Don.t bother bringing your own teabags owners provided really enjoyable teabags lovely. All the essentials washing liquid, hand soap salt pepper etc. thank you for a good holiday.

I found the Dispensary to be clean, comfortable & well equipped.

There was milk & wine in the fridge when I arrived & also tea & biscuits. The owner sent me a text on the day of arrival to tell me that the cottage was ready & I could arrive early if I wanted to. Apparently he sent me an email too a few days before but unfortunately I never received it. I also received a text after leaving, thanking me for staying & that, after reading my comments in the guestbook he would be rectifying a couple of things - only to do with kitchen utensils. This all shows that the owners genuinely want you to enjoy your stay & you are not just another "punter". Bradwell itself was a perfect base, having everything you should need for a self-catering break without having to visit major towns & supermarkets. Unless you want to of course. All in all a great place to be based & I would not hesitate to stay at The Dispensary again when I am in the area.

This was our first visit to the Peak District and it certainly won't be our last.

We reviewed a lot of cottages, and going on the reviews, we picked The Dispensary. We were not disappointed. The communication from George leading up to our stay, the welcome gifts we received when we arrived, and the house was exactly as described. There was everything you needed, and from the little communication we have had with George, I imagine if you noticed something lacking, he would try to put that right. He is very committed to ensuring you have a great stay. We visited 2 of the local pubs, and the chippy and co-op. Everywhere you go, everyone was friendly. The cottage is ideally located for visiting the whole area - you won't be disappointed. We are looking at dates for next year when we can return with our Jack Russell who loved the bed provided by George! It was lovely to meet you George, and thank you for such a lovely stay.

What a lovely cottage, furnished & cleaned to a high standard.

It was probably the best shower we've ever had in a holiday cottage & the bed & sofas were very comfortable. The kitchen had an excellent hob / oven & the fridge & freezer space was more than adequate for a weeks stay. Smart TVs & excellent Wifi throughout made it a home from home. Bradwell has a great fish & chip shop, the Bakehouse with it's Pizza nights & the Co-op meant anything we didn't bring was a very short walk away. The only thing we missed from the description was the fact the garden/courtyard was not directly accessible from the house & access was from the kitchen entrance area which was shared by the neighbours meaning we couldn't just let our dogs out directly from the house into the garden. Would thoroughly recommend this house to anyone.
