Guests say

Eboracum is a well-received cottage in the Peak District, praised for its high standard of renovation, cleanliness, and modern decor. Guests appreciate its great location, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped kitchen. While minor issues are mentioned, such as the en-suite layout and dining chair comfort, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests planning to return.

The property is generally described as immaculate and spotlessly clean. However, one review mentioned that some kitchen equipment was dirty upon arrival, suggesting room for improvement in the cleaning process.

The location is highly praised for its beauty and convenience, with easy access to local attractions and walks. The quiet, peaceful setting and proximity to Hathersage are consistently noted as positives.

Guests find the property comfortable, with luxurious carpets and cosy bedrooms. Some discomfort was noted with the dining chairs and the usability of the en-suite sink, but these are minor points in the context of overall comfort.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the well-equipped kitchen and EV charger. However, there are comments about the lack of a toilet in the en-suite, the need for maintenance on the dishwasher, and the design of the stair area, indicating some areas for improvement.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate the owners' thoughtfulness. Therefore, while the property is well-furnished and equipped, there is insufficient information to assess this category.

If you’re feeling brave enough, walk over to Peak Cavern, the UK's largest cave entrance, for underground tours of cave networks. Then drive to the stunning city of Sheffield to stroke the alpacas and feed the meerkats at Mayfield Alpacas Animal Park, visit the Winter Garden, a breathtaking glasshouse, home to over 2,000 plant specimens from around the world, and end the day with an educational trip to Weston Park Museum with its interactive exhibits and fight away the ducks while you picnic at Weston Park. Endless experiences at adventures await you at Eboracum.

The attractive village of Hathersage (‘Heathers Edge’) is situated within the Peak District National Park at the beginning of the Hope Valley and close to excellent walking at Edale. Many visitors come to Hathersage to visit the churchyard and the grave of “Little John” (of Robin Hood fame) - whether he ever really existed is for you to decide! Charlotte Bronte’s famous novel Jane Eyre is thought to have been inspired by her visit to Hathersage vicarage in 1845. For a village of its size there is a very good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat, as well as a public, open air heated swimming pool and railway station. A great centre for exploring the Peak District!

Really lovely. We had a really enjoyable weekend. Thank you so much!

There was plenty of parking space. We were delighted that the Hathersage restaurants are within very easy walking distance. The cottage itself is cosy and warm. We loved the comfortable bedrooms and soft carpet upstairs. The main shower was good (I didn’t try the en-suite one as I was in a different room). We liked the decoration choices throughout the property. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable. Eboracum is a really homely cottage and was the perfect choice for a small group of friends who wanted to enjoy long walks.
