Simple rooms at The Great Escape feature an private bathroom, a TV and heating.  Free WiFi is available.  The dining room features beamed ceilings and an open fireplace. 

The onsite pub, The Oak, is open 7 days a week, serving good quality, home-cooked food. 

The center of the village is a short walk away and here you can find traditional English pubs, as well local shops.  The surrounding High Weald area is ideal for country walks.  Rye, its railway station and the nearest beaches are within a 10-minute drive of The Great Escape.

Property info

We are a Pet Friendly Establishment and have two dedicated Pet Friendly Rooms (please see details below) The other eight rooms are unfortunately not Pet Friendly.

All our Rooms are Self Contained Units with their own Front Doors.

Reservations can be done on a room only OR breakfast included basis. Each Room has Free wifi, TV, Mini Fridge and Kettle. The En-Suite Bathroom has a Shower, Sink and Toilet. All Rooms have Heating and Extra Blankets for Winter and Fans for Summer. The Oak, our on-site Pub has a lovely Fireplace, Bar for Drinks and Restaurant for Lunch and Dinner.

pets - We are DOG Friendly and dogs stay for free. Please let us know (upon booking) if a Dog Friendly Room is required, we only have ONE DOG friendly double room and ONE DOG friendly family room. If not arranged beforehand, we might not be able to accommodate your dogs. A maximum of one large or two small/medium dogs are allowed per room Any damage caused by pets will unfortunately be for your account.

Neighborhood info

With plenty of restaurants and bars in the surrounding area there is a lot of choice of places to eat, The Oak Pub next door serves unbelievably good food and is highly recommended, Being rural, there are lots of country/beach walks for those who prefer nature and the countryside. The beautiful towns of Rye and Battle are also nearby if you’re looking for a little more excitement.
