About this property

Little Barn is an outstanding barn conversion on the outskirts of the pretty village of Stockbridge, Hampshire. Beautifully presented and with high-end furnishings and artwork throughout, this impressive holiday home is perfect for a group of friends or couples seeking that much-needed countryside escape. When entering the gate, you will be presented with a large patio and lawned area where you may sit and have your dinner in the sunshine breathing in the fresh nature’s air. Or leave the patio door open from the generous kitchen/diner, seating four, it awaits dinner parties and chatting over your favourite glass of wine. Leading on from the kitchen is the sitting area with warm, neutral tones and dimmed lighting, making it perfect for a film night on the Smart TV or a book marathon provided on the bookshelf; the options are endless. Upstairs, two king-size rooms await sleepy heads, both contain bedside lights, fantastic natural lighting from the Velux windows and not forgetting a dressing table with complimentary toiletries so you can get ready in style. Unwind in the bath upstairs after a long day or utilise the ground floor walk-in wet room overlooking the garden. With hardwood floors throughout, this property is ideal for your furry friends with a private fenced garden to not leave any of your family behind. From the doorstep, Little Barn is a short distance from the Highstreet of Stockbridge, voted ‘Best Foodie Street’ in 2010; the coffee shops and restaurants are endless. You may wander to the Common Marsh, situated along the River Test; be sure to look out for blue butterflies and the unpolluted waters of the river make it home to an array of aquatic friends. Alternatively, a short drive will bring you to Stockbridge Down, with free parking, the hiking routes contain a plethora of striking views; why not try blueberry picking to get in the real countryside spirit? Further afield, you will find Weston Hard Woolston Stone Beach, where you may choose to spend the day soaking in the rays and relaxing or get your daily fix of paddle boarding if that’s more your style of adventure. Return again and again to your quiet, countryside escape at Little Barn.

Lying in the heart of Test Valley midway between Andover and Romsey is the tranquil town of Stockbridge, well-known for being one of the smallest towns in the United Kingdom and famed for its excellent fly-fishing, here you’ll find the oldest fishing club in England, Houghton Fishing Club. Set within rolling hills and tranquil beauty it is hard to believe that the town was once branded a ‘rotten borough’ as it was known in the 1700s; an abundance of picturesque Hampshire villages can also be found not far from Stockbridge with their pretty churches and traditional country pubs as well as the magnificent Test Way. Poetry lovers will also be impressed to know that the beauty of Stockbridge has inspired many writers, there is also a poetry trail of ten poems, set in stone, metal, and glass that are peppered throughout the town centre. The splendid gardens at Mottisfont Abbey, Houghton Lodge and Longstock Water Gardens are all accessible from here too, perfect for a family day out.

Short drive to both Winchester and Salisbury, and Stockbridge and surrounding areas full of good pubs, cafes, shops and walks. The only drawback is that safe access to Stockbridge is by car as the walk is (in part) on a busy A road, but it didn't stop us from having a great week!

Beautifully decorated and styled; warm and comfortable; a lovely quiet location and with every amenity you could need. The welcome pack was very generous too! Stockbridge is a very pretty town and the surrounding areas have much to explore. We will definitely book Little Barn again. Thank you Andrew & Karen.

There is plenty to do in Stockbridge and the surrounding area. Roche Court Sculpture Park is a hidden gem. The highlights for us were the quiet, country location of Little Barn, with a footpath on the doorstep and the excelent wifi connection. Also we must thank the person who keeps the accomodation so imaculate, ten out of ten. Thank you Karen and Andrew for a wonderful holiday.
