Situated on the River Itchen, Twyford is a village in Hampshire, around three miles south of Winchester. It rests just within the borders of the South Downs National Park and offers a delightful array of amenities, including charming pubs such as The Bugle Inn, The Phoenix Inn, and a local coffee shop, The Bean Below, sits on the crossroads for a midday caffeine pick-me-up. Home to around 70 listed buildings and seven ancient monuments within the parish, Twyford has a wealth of history. Open-water swimming can be enjoyed in the Itchen Navigation canal thanks to its clean clear waters at Shawford Lock, or golfers can head to Hockley Golf Course north of the village for a round of golf. Enjoy a fun day at the Marwell Zoo to meet a host of animals, with over 170 exotic and endangered species living within 140 acres.     So many different things to explore in the area come rain or shine. The equestrian routine is another experience not normally included in your holiday. This was our second visit and may not be our last.
