Guests have enjoyed the spacious and well-equipped 6 Gloster Terrace, appreciating its stunning sea views and proximity to the beach. The property's selection of books and music adds character, and it's well-suited for family gatherings. While some guests mentioned the need for updates and maintenance, the overall experience has been positive, with many looking forward to returning.

The property has been described as 'beautifully clean' with clean bedding and towels. However, one review mentioned mould and limescale, suggesting room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its sea views and easy access to the beach, local pubs, and shops. The busy road was a concern for some, but overall, the location is considered excellent.

The property is deemed comfortable, with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. However, the presence of many stairs and the lack of a garden or inviting outdoor space has been noted.

The property is well-equipped with a great kitchen, entertainment options, and ample space. Maintenance issues like outdated fixtures and weak internet security have been pointed out, indicating a need for attention.

There are no mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

About this property

6 Gloster Terrace is a beautiful, four-storey, Victorian end-terrace house on the seafront in Sandgate, Kent. With four bedrooms sleeping up to seven guests, this lovely property has spacious living areas with sea views, and is close to amenities, ideal for families hoping to explore Kent's historic coast and Kent Downs. Inside, you'll find much of the property's original character with contemporary features throughout. The kitchen/diner is a light and airy space with a large window framing the sea, a pine table for seven to dine together, whilst the kitchen is well equipped for home cooking with a large range cooker, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. Outside, you'll find a small, enclosed courtyard to step outside for some fresh air. Completing the ground floor is a utility equipped with a washing machine, along with a wet room, ideal for freshening up after busy beach days. When it's time to relax, head upstairs to find a spacious sitting room with cushioned seats, a TV, and open fire, perfect for spending quality time with loved ones. The space benefits from a large window overlooking the Sandgate Esplanade, as well as a generous selection of books and a piano for musical guests to entertain. There are four bedrooms across three floors, each furnished with storage space and suitable for a variety of groups. The first floor hosts a double bedroom and a cloakroom, the second has a master double with sea views, a twin, cloakroom, and the family bathroom, and the third floor has a single room with a Velux window and TV. Based in the heart of Sandgate, you'll have plenty to do on your doorstep with The Earl of Clarendon pub, Inn Doors Micropub, and Chameleon Cafe all within easy reach for dining out, while you can stock up on essentials at the local convenience store. Sandgate Beach is right on your doorstep, and the bustling town of Folkestone just a stone's throw away where you can swim and sunbathe along Folkestone Beach, book an evening performance at Leas Cliff Hall, and find coastal walks at Folkestone East Cliff and Warren Country Park. Hythe is also close by with more shops to choose from, eateries such as The Lazy Lobster and Park Road Fish Bar, and another pebble beach for sunset strolls. For more outdoor adventures, head to Capel-le-Ferne and ramble the spectacular cliffs, whilst Kent Downs offers hiking, cycling, horse riding, and plenty of wildlife amid scenic hills and valleys. Further afield lies the coastal town of Dover with its iconic white cliffs, guided tours of the 19th-century South Foreland Lighthouse, and the medieval ruins of Dover Castle. For the best of Kent's coast and country, gather your loved ones for an unforgettable staycation at 6 Gloster Terrace.

Sandgate is between Folkestone and Hythe. In the 1970s, the castle was bought, repaired, and turned into a private residence. The high street has quaint shops, tea houses, and a micropub, making it ideal for a relaxed trip. Watersports are also available for those searching for something more active. What's better than a day at the beach with a picnic, viewing the ever-changing seascape, or beachcombing for treasure? Buy fresh fish at Folkestone's harbour and BBQ on the beach as the sun sets, or eat at one of the restaurants overlooking the Channel. Taking the ferry or rail will get you to a French restaurant or café in less than an hour. On the way home, get wine and cheese to end the day. Sandgate, Kent's hidden beauty.

We swam in the sea and listened to music every day. Enough space for all of us to have our space or come together to relax. I liked that we could sit in the garden this year as the shrubs had been cut. Nice for members of the family who want to be by the sea but not able to walk on the stones. Very well equipped house. Our dog Lionel loves it here too. We hope to be back next year. Thank you again for using your home to make great memories.

The kitchen is very well equipped and we had some lovely meals around the large table. The views out of the front windows are fantastic and the beach was great for catching crabs and shrimps at low tide. It is easy to walk to Folkstone and Hythe.

A true home from home for us as we also live by the sea. Well equipped kitchen, missing nothing for cooking from scratch. Plenty of cutlery & crockery. Huge fridge freezer. The bath was perfect and over bath shower very powerful. Wonderful stay had by all. We'll definitely return
