What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mrs Jayes - Verified booking

The house was in a wonderful location with superb views. It was very well equipped apart from the item mentioned above and generous with little extras like handbags and dishwasher tablets etc. not to mention coffee, tea, biscuits and wine - lovely gesture. The house furnishings were sound and tasteful and we were very comfortable. However, there is a slight problem with the water supply to the upstairs en suite which needs attention. Everything was neatly labelled with regard to electrical devices and the wifi system worked very well. My family are sports fans and they missed having access to Sky TV and other additional TV choices such as Netflix etc. Not that we spent much time watching TV but it would have been nice to have had that option. Would we be happy to stay there again? Yes indeed, it was a wonderful house and the Owner was very prompt and willing to do all that she could to solve any glitches and we appreciated that very much. Thank you.

I would not stay at this cottage again as it is too small for 4 adults.

The fact that the weather was good meant that we could sit in the garden and use the studio at the bottom of the garden. There was not sufficient storage for clothes and there were a lack of kitchen utensils for cooking. There was no salt and pepper dispensers and no cleaning materials. So had to purchase these. The water was not draining away in the shower, on inspecting the shower waste was disgusting (full of hair, soap and scum), there was a lot of dust under the lounge chairs, around the feet of the chairs and ,on the bottom of the lamp. I left the property a lot cleaner than when we arrived. (Although I just wiped the bathroom down because it needed a deep clean). The positives were the bedrooms had televisions, the bed in the back bedroom was comfortable and the property was close to the main shops and the canal.

It's a lovely cottage and the owner has made the decor very homely.

However, we found some aspects very impractical. Having no TV on the ground floor of the main house just didn't work for us. Our stay was immediately after the Queen's death and It meant that we couldn't come back and catch up on the day's news while cooking and eating our evening meal. We had to wait till after we'd eaten and go out in the dark, chilly (and sometimes rainy) night, crossing a stony uneven courtyard to watch TV in the games room. Bizarrely, there were TVs in each bedroom but it would have been cramped to watch TV there with no comfortable seating also a bit anti social. On the positive side the cottage was well located for local restaurants and shopping. Only 15 minutes walk from a very clean promenade and beach and easy to get to Kent's attractions further afield.

Seaglass cottage is perfectly located to explore Hythe and the surrounding areas. The seafront is a 2 minute walk away, and you can see the sea from the main bedroom. We had no difficulties parking either directly outside or near the cottage each day. Hythe high street is a short stroll away, with plenty of independent shops to explore, along with great pubs and cafes. Take a walk up to the church, the view from there is amazing. The cottage was very clean, with a really well equipped kitchen. The beds were super comfy unlike many holiday homes we’ve stayed in. It really did feel like a home from home. We’d have no hesitation in recommending this cottage and will definitely book again as it was excellent.

A well equipped and very comfortable small cottage in a part of Hythe close to the sea. Local residents were very welcoming and it was good to be in a friendly community. In the area there were some really good cafes, restaurants and public houses. The location was well placed for weeks along the esplanade all the way towards Sandgate and Folkestone. The cottage was also within easy walking distance of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway. The railway provided easy access to the vast shingle desert of Dungeness as well as to New Romney and Dymchurch with their links into the Romney Marsh.
