Delightful cottage for two, beautifully refurbished with its own pretty garden. In a quiet location yet close to town.
Claire’s Cottage is a true treasure; a charming ragstone home built some 200 years ago amidst a secluded terrace of five. Originally a workman’s cottage, it is now a delightful romantic hideaway for two. Containing many of its original features, the cottage has been comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated and has a wood-burning stove for those cosy autumnal evenings in. The pretty garden is a tranquil sun trap, providing the perfect spot for outdoor dining or relaxing with a drink and a book amongst the bird song.
There are three golf courses nearby, several beaches (including sandy ones) tennis, cricket, bowls, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Popular seaside restaurants overlooking the bay provide panoramic views should you prefer a glass of wine and calamari, while watching others enjoy the variety of water sports.

A lovely well equipped and cosy cottage. An enjoyable stay.
Mrs Dowling
A cosy, comfortable cottage in a quiet and peaceful location. The property is ideal for the solo traveller or a couple seeking to explore the east Kent coast. The cottage was well supplied with all items one could possibly require during the stay and was in a pristine state of cleanliness which was very reassuring in these times of Covid. The rear garden was the ideal spot to enjoy an after lunch coffee, sheltered and quite the little sun trap. Parking was never an issue on the road adjacent to the property and perhaps a car would be necessary to make the most of this location as the return walk up the hill requires much energy. The cream tea and other items left for us by the owner were much appreciated and enjoyed, a very nice touch. Would definitely return and would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to others.
Miss Stephens
Lovely cosy cottage with lots of amenities and information on the local town provided by the owners. The welcome afternoon tea provided was also a lovely touch making us feel at home. The location is great if you don't mind a bit of a walk to Hythe and the beach is only a short distance from the high street. Thank you for such a lovely stay!
