This mid-terrace property has everything you need for a self-catered stay, perfect for a small family, friends or two couples looking to explore the Kent coastline, historic towns, or countryside. The living room is a charming sunny room facing the creek where you can watch the tide ebb and flow․ For cooler evenings, the original brick fireplace houses an electric stove which can also be used to provide a cosy glow without heat. Upstairs are two fully-furnished bedrooms; the front bedroom benefits from a full-length window, looking across to small sailing barges moored on the far side of the creek and oystercatchers wading at low tide. There is a delightful bright shower room on this floor, with an additional WC downstairs. All the pleasures of Medieval Faversham are within a short level walk, where historic buildings, coffee shops and eateries, pubs and antique shops await․ The mock Tudor Royal Cinema where you can watch current releases, or head to Faversham Pools, offering indoor and outdoor swimming complete with diving boards. If you’re looking for a break from cooking, a few steps from the cottage you’ll find The Albion Taverna․ If Mexican food is not your cuisine of choice, there are lots of other eateries to choose from within a short walk, such as Posillipo (Italian).
On the far side of the creek is Standard Quay, home to historic buildings housing antique shops, food and drink etc․ while a few steps further take you to Iron Wharf boatyard․ Stop for a coffee at Quint’s Retreat before heading out along Saxon Shore. 46 By the Creek is positioned on the England Coast Path leading to Saxon Shore Way․ For a short walk, cross the fields to Hollowshore, on the Swale estuary, and enjoy a pint or two at The Shipwright’s Arms. Nature lovers will want to visit Oare Marshes, or Sheppey with its nature reserves and RSPB viewing point within a scenic drive. Whether you’re looking for coast, historic buildings, exploring nature or just somewhere to chill, 46 By the Creek offers the perfect base for you.
Faversham is a charming market town in the heart of Kent. With many interesting places to see and things to do, this lovely town offers visitors the chance to explore, shop, cycle, walk, swim, or dine out, and also boasts the oldest brewery in Britain dating back to 1698. It was due to the brewery that "hop picking" became the family holiday for many living in London, right up until the 1950s. During the summer, thousands of people would descend on the fields around Faversham, set up camp and spend the days "hop picking", thus making this one of the best places to enjoy a pint or two! Faversham is proud of its history, was named in the Domesday Book and, with its cobbled streets and medieval houses, tiny quaint pubs and many listed buildings, this town enjoys remembering its fascinating history. For those looking to experience the outdoor life, Faversham has plenty to keep you entertained, why not take a swim in one of the year-round swimming pools? Take a walk around Oare Gunpowder Works Country Park, or explore Perry Wood. Take part in a taster session rowing along the creek. All this on your doorstep, while a short drive offers so many different experiences inland and coastal. For those who want to explore even further afield then why not sail away on a ferry or travel on the Channel Tunnel, either way you can be in France or Belgium in time for lunch and back in time for supper! This is a wonderful area and well worth exploring.

The owners had made sure that everything had been thought of for an enjoyable time. The town is a short walk away and pubs, restaurants are on your doorstep. I could happily return to this property in the near future.

Nice, clean and well appointed for what we needed. Really quiet of an evening and nice to watch the boats on the creek when it was in flood.

It's only a short walk into Faversham and there are lots of good places to eat and drink. The Albion close by is very good and the cafe at the end of the boat yard as well as the wonderful community garden .lots to see and do on the area. A great place to spend a week.
