Guests say

The Roundhouse in Cornwall offers a peaceful rural retreat with friendly hosts and clean, comfortable accommodation. Guests appreciate the property's beautiful surroundings, convenient location for exploring North Devon and Cornwall, and additional amenities like a children's play area. Some guests noted the property could benefit from updates and better soundproofing, but overall experiences were positive with many considering a return visit.

Reviews consistently mention the cleanliness of the property, describing it as 'very clean and tidy' and 'very clean and comfortable,' indicating high standards of cleanliness.

The location is praised for its peacefulness and proximity to Bude and beautiful countryside. However, some guests found the property remote and the directions challenging, slightly affecting the score.

Guests find the property spacious and the beds comfortable, particularly the ground floor double bed. However, some guests mentioned that the settee is old and uncomfortable, and the noise from other cottages can be disturbing.

The property is well-equipped for cooking and has a children's play area. However, some guests noted that the bathroom and kitchen appear tired, and there are comments about the need for a dishwasher and better TV reception.

While guests have expressed gratitude towards the hosts for their hospitality, there is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches in the reviews provided, so it is not possible to score this category.

About this property

The Roundhouse at Lee Barton Farm is an attractive stone built converted barn, just 5.5 miles from the centre of Bude. Bright and welcoming, inside you'll find a spacious and comfortable open plan living space with sitting and dining areas, and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you'll need to prepare meals for the family. On the ground floor, two steps down lead to a lovely double bedroom with wall mounted TV and next door the family bathroom. On the first floor a gallery twin bedroom nestled under the eaves and a balcony overlooking the ground floor. Outside there is a seating area with circular picnic table and use of the grounds and gardens. Ideal for families or friends looking for a peaceful, rural location close to the beach.

Kilkhampton is an historic Cornish village, 4 miles from the popular Victorian seaside resort of Bude, one of Cornwall’s premier holiday locations. With its old church, village shops and atmospheric village pubs, Kilkhampton is a lovely place to relax after a hard day exploring the stunning beaches and spectacular coastal scenery for which the area is famous. Bude’s beaches attract surfers from all over the country and when conditions are right you’d be hard pushed to find better surf. When the tide is out, miles of golden sand and hundreds of rock pools keep visitors occupied for hours. The South West Coast Path, and many other rights-of-way winding over the clifftops and through lush green fields looking out over the sea, make this area a haven for walkers and lovers of the open countryside. For those who prefer staying closer to home, a good shopping centre and a selection of pubs, two clubs and restaurants are on offer. Bude canal, a registered nature reserve, passes through the town, and rowing a boat along its calm waters or walking the towpath among the beautiful (and friendly) water fowl that live among the reeds is a great way to spend an hour or two. Within the area there are also 2 golf courses, an indoor swimming pool, bowling alley at the leisure centre. A perfect location for all that North Cornwall has to offer.

A working farm with great walks. Unfortunately the weather didn't comply. But we still had a great time.

The layout is great for kids with the mezzanine which feels special. Lovely open living area with very well equipped kitchen, the washing machine a bonus as the beach very nearby and really helpful after body boarding! Lovely walks on the farm and a great play area with swings, we holidayed with family in a neighbouring cottage and great location. Only one niggle, the neighbouring cottage extends over the double bedroom so we heard creaking when neighbouring teenagers walked around, but not problematic most of the time.
