Be welcomed into the porch where you will find a handy cupboard housing a washing machine and tumble dryer, along with a separate cloakroom. Continue through the property to discover a stunning kitchen/diner with high apex ceilings, with all the budding chef of the group will need to conjure up delicious feasts, as well as a dishwasher for those fuss-free clean-ups! Settle down at the dining table with additional seating at the breakfast bar to savour a tasty meal over a bottle of wine, or if the weather is nice, why not take advantage and dine alfresco out on the balcony for dinner with a view? Choose between the sitting room with crackling woodburning stove and TV or the snug below the house with TV and games to relax in after a day of exploring. There is also a study with desk space and a selection of books and games, kindly provided by the owner. When sleep calls, retire to one of four beautifully decorated bedrooms, each with their own en-suite for complete privacy and plenty of storage for your belongings. After a restful night, prepare for the day in style and wander the expansive grounds, where you will find seating spots, along with a tree house, ensuring plenty of fun for the little ones! Explore the local village, where you will find a well-stocked convenience store for picking up ingredients to re-create your favourite holiday dishes in the comfort of Wood Meadow, as well as the welcoming Shipwright Arms pub and the Holy Mackerel Café, where you can grab a bite to eat and enjoy time off from the kitchen, just a few minutes walk away. For a day at the beach, Boshahan Cove is just a short walk away along a coastal path and offers a picturesque, shingled beach, where you can paddle the shores and soak up the lovely views of Helford River. If you can tear yourself away, the Helford Ferry offers rides over to the adjacent village of Helford Passage, where you will find the delightful beaches of Trebah and Helford Passage, as well as the National Trust Glendurgan and Trebah Gardens and easy access to the scenic South West Coast Path. Make your way over to Helston, where you can explore the Museum of Cornish Life, create memories at the Flambards Theme Park or meet the local wildlife at the nearby Cornish Seal Sanctuary. Visit the Lizard Heritage Coast where you will find some of the best sandy beaches, including Kynance Cove and Loe Bar, where you can bath on the sands, build sandcastles with the little ones or paddle the clear waters. The budding historians in your party will not want to miss the opportunity to wander the delights of Redruth, home to the National Trust East Pool Mine, Moseley Heritage Museum and Kresen Kernow. Escape to Cornwall with a touch of splendour with a stay at Wood Meadow.

Thatched houses and a prominent village inn, The Shipwrights Arms, sit on the brink of the stream in Helford's scenic setting. Nearby is Daphne du Maurier's Frenchman's Creek, which is only a short walk away. Every August, the Helford River Sailing Club hosts a regatta. The garden is wonderful fully enjoyed by our dog. A lot of wildlife rabbits, deer and many different birds visiting the garden. The view down the estuary was a great way to wake up in the morning. We did a lot of walks and kayaked from the slipway by the pub just a short walk. The village pub and store were great and we used them regularly food in Shipwrights Arms was good. We will definitely rebook for another break here loved the area so peaceful and quiet.

Beautifully furnished and decorated.. couldn’t fault it. Fully equipped with everything you could possibly need..from utensils to games. Just a suggestion but the snug could be better used as a games room with pool table and dartboard just for those rainy days and maybe an enclosed garden as couldn’t let the dog off…but obviously not to encumber the fantastic views. Would definitely book again if you’ll have us

The house is well appointed, extensive but also cosy simultaneously. It has a light airy feel but always at a pleasant temperature and the log burner is a lovely addition if the nights are colder. There are plentiful walks nearby and a great pub 5 minutes walk away on the waters edge. All in all we had great relaxing week. ‘
