About this property

Polperro Road is a lovely holiday lodge in the wonderful coastal town of Looe, Cornwall. Just a stone's throw away from the coast and ample amenities, this property is ideal for couples, families and friends wishing for a peaceful seaside retreat. After a night spent in one of the lodges nicely-presented bedroom, make yourself a cup of tea or coffee and sit out on the decking to breathe in the fresh Cornish air and watch the sun rise over the waves and later, use the teppanyaki grill for lunch or dinner. Come back inside to fix yourself some breakfast in the fully-equipped kitchen then sink into the plush sofa, in front of the Smart TV for a lazy day in or freshen up with a shower and get ready to go out and explore. Head out to the town centre where you'll be spoilt for choice of eateries like The Harbour Moon for some pub grub, Catch for a classic fish and chips by the water, The Courtyard for a café brunch and more. Spend the day on the beach or head to Pen Rocks for some stunning coastal views. Branch out to the stunning St Austell with its abundance of activities and things to see. Walk through the 200 tropical acres of The Lost Gardens of Heligan, try your hand at jet ski or surfing at Cornwall Waverunner Safaris and play a few rounds at Cornwall FootballGolf Park. A scenic drive will take you to city of Plymouth where you'll find National Maritime Aquarium, West Hoe Park for a stroll and picnic, and end the day with some dinner at Seco Lounge. With activities for everyone Polperro Road is a perfect base for visiting Cornwall.

Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. You can also catch the river taxi between East and West Looe. East Looe has narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has a lovely outlook across the harbour. Looe’s viewpoint, Banjo Pier, can be reached from the quay and is a great spot to watch the returning fishing trawlers and look across the bay to Looe Island, which can be walked to occasionally at very low tides. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. There is also a great rock pool area at Hannafore that children will love. West Looe has a Heritage Centre that recently opened in the Old Sardine Factory with a climbing wall and a cafe and the delightful Kilminorth Woods have way marked walks through the majestic oak wood, rich in plant, insect and bird life. Apart from beach activities in this part of south east Cornwall, there are many mining remains on Bodmin Moor and in the Tamar Valley and much of the mining landscape has World Heritage status. This area of Cornwall has inspired writers, such as Daphne du Maurier and much of Bodmin Moor has inspired legends linked with King Arthur. There is much to explore in this beautiful part of Cornwall.

Apart from minor hiccups (loose toilet seat/rather narrow single beds) the accommodation had everything needed for a comfortable stay... thanks !!

The lodge was lovely it was very clean and it had very you could wish for the only thing which let it down for me was when you parked the car to get to the steps there is a bit of a bank which I found a little difficult as I have bad knees and the first step of the steps was a little high for me but we managed. It would have been nice if that was in the write up then I could have looked for something that was flat. But saying that we had a lovely break. Just one small thing it would have been nice to have some sort of information about the tv we had to have maintenance out twice it was the switch on the top of the tv you had to take it out then put back in but we could not do it because you needed ladders.
