Reviewers frequently mention the immaculate condition of the cottage, indicating a high standard of cleanliness that contributes positively to their overall experience.

The cottage's rural setting in Cornwall is praised for its peace and proximity to local attractions, though some guests note the need for a car and the challenge of narrow lanes.

About this property

Halvosso is one of four traditional quarrymans terraced cottages situated in the tiny hamlet of Halvosso. Peaceful and secluded, yet a mere mile to the main road to Falmouth. This cottage has timeless charm, is decorated in a modern country style and enjoys first floor views over the countryside towards Falmouth Bay.

Scenic, rural walks can be enjoyed from the front door or head out for a walk along the coast paths. The port of Falmouth is less than a 10 minute drive and as well as daily provisions, offers independent shops, restaurants, traditional inns, galleries and wonderful beaches.

Renovated to a high standard, by the owners that live across the lane, Halvosso offers a cleverly designed kitchen, a wonderful living room with enormous inglenook fireplace with welcoming wood burning stove and dining table. Stairs to the first floor lead to the family bathroom (bath and shower over) and two well presented bedrooms, a well appointed double and small, snug twin. A gorgeous well screened sun trap of a garden is to the rear of the property along with parking for one car. The really ancient town of Penryn, now home to the Combined University of Cornwall, is 10 minutes away and if interested in architecture, is worth a visit - there are many ope ways with pretty cottages to view and a dinky town museum. The hidden coves and fishing villages around the Lizard Peninsular will fascinate, and closer by, the stunning sub-tropical Trebah and Glendurgan gardens are a must. Halvosso is a great choice of holiday home at any time of year and would suit a small family or group of friends wanting a peaceful relaxing holiday.

Falmouth, with its magnificent natural harbour (the third largest in the world), winding streets and beaches, will keep you occupied for hours. The town's old harbourside pubs, excellent shopping, art gallery and stunning National Maritime Museum simply complete the picture. Pendennis Castle, built by Henry viii, is Falmouth's most popular attraction, sited on its own peninsula with superb panoramic sea views. Across from Falmouth harbour is the beautiful town of St Mawes, surrounded by the rocky coves, sandy beaches and lush green countryside of the Roseland Peninsula. Go there by car (15 miles) or take the passenger ferry from Falmouth (15 minutes).

I drive a large vehicle and this daily challenge took the shine off the holiday. Also both pathways both front and rear are overgrown meaning the front entrance could not be used at all and we had to use the lawn to enter the property from the rear. Aside from this issue the cottage itself was lovely as were the owners

It was very comfortable and clean. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The countryside view is lovely. The cottage garden is very pretty. Every was maintained well. We would like to go back.

You won’t regret booking this one. It’s quiet, clean and the beds were very comfortable and we found it a really good base to see Cornwall. Kitted out with all the stuff you may not have brought for cleaning, etc.. Only thing to note, the 2nd room has a sky light which hasn’t got a blind to prevent morning sunlight coming through and to high for a black out blind - meaning the kids were up even earlier! Apart from that the cottage was perfect.
