Dating back some 500 years, the fishing village of Portpatrick features a small rocky bay, sheltered by cliffs, and was once a thriving seaport. Today known as the 'Jewel in the Crown of Galloway', it boasts a variety of stunning cliff-top walks, secluded bays and beaches, and a fine selection of harbour-side pubs, restaurants and gift shops. At the south end of the village visitors can find the Lighthouse Pottery, offering stunning views of the area, and evoking the sense of an amphitheatre, with a line of attractive buildings stretching across the skyline. Portpatrick is also home to one of the 30 life-boat stations in Scotland, offering an exhibition that is well worth a visit. There is an excellent beach with launching ramp, both rock and freshwater fishing, and several boats, which transport sea anglers out from the harbour to catch warsse, cod, mackerel, whiting, plaice and skate. With golfing, bowling, and tennis facilities close by, Portpatrick is the perfect location for a relaxing break.

This property is not over looked which is brilliant. The view is great which you can see from all aspects of the lodge. Very clean, and with everything you would need and more! The games and outdoor equipment are a very nice bonus. The location also has lovely swimming pool, restaurant on site and park. You can walk to the beach 1 mile away, portreath is great a traditional cornish village. We have had a very restful week and will be back. Great interaction from owner. Absolutely nothing to fault!

The lodge felt very secluded, great position within the park. The hot tub was excellent and well maintained throughout the week. The Property Manager was very supportive when we had issues with the golf ( being charged when it should be free). Good communications prior to arriving. The lodge was furnished to a high specification. The twin rooms were a little small for adults. Would be fine for children. Plenty of comfortable living area space though. A few more large saucepans would be useful as we cooked in a lot. And some more crockery. We would certainly recommend staying at Bayview. We hope to return again in the future.

Bay View is an amazing property and we loved our time here. Everything you could need was provided with a fully equipped kitchen. The hot tub was amazing and a welcome sight after long walks on the coastal path. This property is located in a beautiful part of the country with so many gorgeous walks on your doorstep. We were very sad to leave. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to stay at this hidden gem. Weâve made memories for a lifetime.
