Guests say

The Annexe, Laburnum, is a cosy and welcoming cottage in St. Austell, Cornwall, appreciated for its cleanliness, convenient location for exploring, and the owner John's helpfulness. While some guests found the property and its furnishings to be dated and in need of maintenance, others enjoyed the homely feel and found it to be a comfortable base for their holiday, with beautiful views and easy access to local attractions.

Most guests found The Annexe to be clean and well-presented, with several reviews highlighting its spotlessness. However, a few mentioned issues with mustiness and mould, which slightly lowers the score.

The property's location is generally praised for its quiet setting and proximity to local attractions like the Eden Project. The scenic views and ease of access to major roads for exploring Cornwall are appreciated, although the lack of village amenities is noted.

Guests found the cottage cosy and the bed comfortable, contributing to a pleasant stay. However, some guests mentioned that the sofa and mattress were saggy and the property felt damp, which suggests room for improvement in comfort.

The Annexe is equipped for a comfortable stay, with a well-stocked kitchen and efficient heating. Nonetheless, guests have pointed out dated decor, the need for a tumble dryer, and issues with parking and recycling facilities, indicating that some aspects require updating.

While the reviews reflect the owner's caring and helpful nature, there are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that would fall under the category of thoughtfulness. Therefore, this score is set to null.

The owner was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The property is located in an excellent rural location with many major locations a short drive away. The big disappointment for us was that we could only stay for a few days instead of the planned ten day holiday because our elderly dog being looked after by a family member fell ill. But we will try to return to when we are in a position to do so. Can thoroughly recommend this holiday let.
