About this property

Nestled in a secluded spot on the outskirts of Bodmin Moor, this two-bedroom converted rural retreat is the ultimate getaway for couples or families looking to explore the four corners of Cornwall’s rugged countryside. Countless footpaths boasting panoramic views across the south and north coast await from the doorstep.

The truly delightful reverse-level design of this cottage enables you to take in glorious far-reaching views across the surrounding moorland from the comfort of the plush sofa in the lounge upstairs, kept cosy by the roaring wood burner and characterful exposed brickwork and ceiling beams. Downstairs, the spacious kitchen/diner perfectly combines comfort and elegance, with a stylish contemporary design and plenty of room for the whole family to enjoy some locally sourced treats. You’ll find even more elegance across the two sophisticated en-suite bedrooms, one king-size and one super-king-size (can be made up as a twin), complete with characterful sloping beamed ceilings and crisp linens that ensure a dreamy slumber. Outside, roast marshmallows over the fire pit on cooler evenings or catch the last of the day’s sunshine dining alfresco in the shared courtyard.

The idyllic village of St Breward is home to Cornwall’s tallest church, a plethora of wildlife and the starting point of the Camel Trail, a traffic-free disused railway line between Wenfordbridge, Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow, perfect for keen walkers and cyclists. Lying on the edge of Bodmin Moor, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are miles of heather-clad moorland and remote footpaths to explore, boasting breathtaking panoramic views of Cornwall’s enchanting coastline on a clear day. Venture through the countryside to the picturesque fishing village of Padstow, 18.5 miles away, to sample some of the best local produce this area has to offer from its excellent selection of independent cafes and restaurants.

A fantastic property, great location and extremely well equipped. Probably the best self catering we've stayed in over the last 40 years, couldn't ask for more and will definitely return. Excellent hosts, welcoming and helpful. Would recommend the property as a great place to relax, enjoy and unwind.

Fabulous cottage in a lovely location on Bodmin Moor. The owners have provided everything you could need in the property. Beautifully furnished to a very high standard. We have not stayed in any better accomodation anywhere, ever. The owners provided very good recommendations for where to eat out and we tried a few. They were all very good too. I would not hesitate to book again should I go back to the area.
