Dolphins is a well-equipped cottage in a stunning Cornwall location, offering beautiful views and proximity to beaches and villages. It's spacious with a large lounge and outdoor area, though some guests noted maintenance and cleanliness could be improved.
Several reviews mention issues with cleanliness, including dirty kitchenware, stained carpets, and mould in bathrooms. However, not all reviews reflect this, indicating inconsistency in cleaning standards.
The location is highly praised for its stunning views and walking distance to beaches and local amenities, making it a prime spot for a holiday stay.
Mixed feedback on comfort, with some guests finding the beds uncomfortable and the rooms small, while others enjoyed the spacious lounge and master bedroom. The need for an upstairs bathroom was also mentioned.
Facilities are generally good, but several reviews cite maintenance issues such as a broken wood burner, problematic hot water, and a need for minor repairs. The property is well-equipped, but some guests expected more for the price.
There is no consistent mention of welcome gifts or additional thoughtful touches provided by the property, and as such, it cannot be guaranteed that such amenities are included.

John Bray used to be a fantastic family run company that cared about its customers. You are now so far removed from the company we used to use many years ago it almost saddens me. There are so many things that were bad about our stay but the main ones being - oven was awful, took ages to heat up. My wife burnt her hand on the top oven door which kept on sliding off. This ultimately ruined her holiday because she was in so much pain. We raised this issue with the broken oven door coming off its hinges last year also. The beds are incredibly uncomfortable, especially the double bed upstairs. Both my wife and I have severe neck and back pain. Try it out for yourself, youâll see what we are talking about. It dips in the middle and then cranes upwards at the top. Didnât get one good nights sleep. Again this something we raised last year. We couldnât open the front door with the key provided and it eventually broke requiring a replacement key. The bin had mould growing in the bottom of it which meant it probably hadnât been properly cleaned for at least 4 weeks. This doesnât surprise me given we know that the cleaners only took about an hour and a half max to clean the whole house between when the last guests left and we arrived. The lights in the kitchen flicker on and off as soon as you turn on another electrical appliance. The doors keep slamming which is unbelievably dangerous especially when you have small children running around. The welcome pack is laughable, a washing up brush and a dishwasher tablet. When we eventually got through to someone in your office they were incredibly rude and dismissive. We had other members of our family staying in houses they booked through The Point and Latitude50. The service and standards they received were far superior, professional and courteous. The houses they stayed in were well looked after, clean and there was always someone LOCAL on hand to help with anything. I am deeply unsatisfied and extremely angry with John Bray and we will never use you again.

The carpets and rugs were very stained. Tea towels were disgusting and could do with replacing. Outside paving is broken and damaged, not safe for children or elderly adults. One bedroom really small, not big enough to call a bedroom as no storage or space.

The double bed downstairs needs a new mattress as very lumpy and uncomfortable. A few annoying things, need a bulb in a bedside lamp and tv remote batteries. Overall we found the house clean and well equipped in the kitchen. A quiet location with lovely views.
