There was no brush, dust pan or hoover to clean up, only a mop and bucket. It would have been useful to have more cutlery and a pair of scissors in the kitchen. The bedrooms were well appointed but matresses we found uncomfortable. Our small dog sleeps in a crate at night, however for people who take dogs to this dog friendly cottage, it would be difficult to keep them in one room as there are no downstairs doors. We understand that the property commands a higher price due to the outdoor facilities, ( kitchen, bbq )which we did not use due to weather, however the hot tub which we used only once seemed to need filters cleaning and smelt after a few days so we chose not to use it. We chose the property as it was close to family and enjoyed our stay based on this, rather than the property itself.

The mattress was slightly uncomfortable but, this didn’t ruin our stay. We enjoyed a peaceful week away, ideal for a couple.

But a few things could be changed to make this property great, firstly cream carpets everywhere for a ‘dog friendly’ property made me really anxious and feel like this could be laminate flooring downstairs or make it not dog friendly, when we went to hoover at the end of our trip the hoover absolutely stank like wet dog and wasn’t picking dirt up properly. The beds were so uncomfortable, we tried both beds and in the end decided to use the single mattresses on top of the double bed, not ideal, but the mattresses were so hard it felt like you were sleeping on the floor, maybe invest in some better mattresses. Must say the towels and bedding were all lovely and clean. Also the hot tub really needs daily maintenance for a holiday let, after 3 days we couldn’t use it anymore as the water started to really smell, which was a shame because that’s what we booked the cottage for. Just some small touches like a floor Matt would be nice as you walk straight into the property as when it’s wet it’s really slippery, and a a sponge to wash up and some shelves in the bathroom would all be great. Despite all this we really did love the cottage and was nice and central for everywhere in Cornwall.
