The city of Truro, along with many other charming villages are a stone's throw away, including a local farm shop and the popular pub, Heron Inn, which is roughly 50 metres from the doorstep. Venturing outside of the village, maritime views can be discovered from the National Trust's Trelissick Garden, St Mawes fishing port or the wealth of local beaches, including Buoys Rock Beach. For a family-friendly activity, aboard the miniature railways of Lappa Valley, support and immerse yourself in the charitable work of the Cornish Seal Sanctuary or relax in the 19th-century grounds of the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Attracting visitors year after year, educational and historical activities are also on offer, where you can learn about the local community at the Museum of Cornish Life, explore the only China clay mining museum at Wheal Martyn Clay Works or celebrate the innovation and artistic flair of Cornwall at the Royal Cornwall Museum. Why not jump aboard the ferry to Falmouth for a day trip? A ferry stop lies just paces away from the cottage, making it the ideal location for exploring this scenic area. Surrounded by the history and beauty of the county, choose 4 Trenhaile Terrace for your family break.

Between St Clement and Calenick, Malpas is a riverbank settlement. Its position allows visitors to visit National Trust properties, historical tourist attractions including museums, and attractive gardens. You'll find everything you need to stock up and enjoy the local produce in the many family-friendly restaurants, cafes, pubs, farm shops, and convenience stores. Truro, a popular cathedral city next to the settlement, has additional attractions, facilities, and retail parks, including a boating lake, Cornish themed exhibitions, and walking trails. Light in fridge not working. Lovely place, we had a fabulous week. Little problem with downstairs toilet, fixed very quickly by our lovely housekeeper.

Cosy, well equipped, stylish interior, beautifully clean and welcoming, with a very helpful information folder from the owners. Sadly, the back garden was out of use while we were there, however the front terrace is an ideal sheltered spot to sit and watch the river. The Heron pub, mere steps away, serves great food. We would really recommend this cottage (except for people with restricted mobility - the outside steps and inside stairs are steep). Parking is on the road, and the pub is popular, but we didn't have trouble finding a space. We like to walk and to kayak; the cottage is ideally located for both activities.

Was clean and smell lovely and fresh throughout the stay. I do have a few niggles however which became apparent over the week. Parking was an absolute nightmare and I don't feel this was accurately stated at time of booking. The shower flooded all over the bathroom everything we used it so ended up having wash towels every day! The other issue was not being able to use the back garden and summer house - I understand the renovation is but thought it was cheeky to give us no notice of this at all until we arrived. Overall, I loved the cottage and would recommend but with the caveats above. Better communication would have helped.
