A sweeping, architectural gem set in the peaceful tranquillity of the hamlet of St. Issey, just outside of Padstow. Up to twenty-six guests can celebrate a special occasion to remember in this historic yet updated listed Manor House with Cornish slate walls, restored fireplaces and a characterful garden complete with a large hot tub and outdoor kitchen.
Once a former courthouse and Mill, the building's rich history is reflected in the lovingly restored rooms and gardens. Five reception spaces offer guests places to relax, celebrate, and come together. Catch a movie on the large L-shaped sofas of the TV room, let the children run wild in the delightful playroom with a door out to the garden, or sit in peace with a book in the garden room.
The state-of-the-art kitchen reflects the genius of the London-based Parti Architects, with stone walls, neutral colours and an epic kitchen island. There are plenty of options at dinner time, with a choice of four ovens, a pizza oven, and even a Braai stove. Lively dinners will go on well into the evening around the impressive twenty-four-seater dining table set in the atmospheric dining room, impeccably designed with a wall of glass floor-to-ceiling doors and windows to allow the outdoors in and easy access to the beautiful garden space.
The sleeping accommodation continues the luxury theme with exceptionally well-appointed rooms, each with its own en-suite or private bathroom. There are eight super-king bedrooms (three of which can be converted to twins) and four king-size rooms, many of which benefit from deep soak baths for a refreshing morning soak, Italian-carved marble basins, and large walk-in showers. Elegant artwork by emerging artists adorns the walls, and original brick fireplaces nod to the history of the house, while the calming neutral ambience is reflected in the tasteful décor.
A desirable feature of Pendragon Hall is the exceptional garden space, with sculpted beds, plentiful outdoor seating, and a fantastic outdoor kitchen where guests can feast with plentiful wine in the lovely Cornish sunshine.
With parking for six cars, an online lobby facility that allows you to book a variety of extras from private bartenders to in-house yoga sessions, and all the mod cons you will need to cater for your guests, all you need to worry about is enjoying your holiday. Just a short drive away is the bustling town of Padstow or the stunning sandy beaches of the North Cornish Coast. If you can tempt yourself away from the luxury of your holiday home, then there is so much to see and do in the surrounding area.
Set in the convenient mid-Cornwall position, the house is within half an hour’s drive of many of the main Cornish attractions. On the North coast, a visit to the bustling seaside town of Padstow has so much to offer.
Try crabbing in the harbour, grab a local pasty for lunch, or take a boat trip to nearby Rock. We recommend visiting the fascinating National Lobster Hatchery to observe the lifecycle of marine lobsters run by local experts. Padstow is also home to several delicious Rick Stein eateries, from grab-and-go fish and chips to the flagship Seafood Restaurant serving a selection of fresh from the ocean dishes from scallops, moules, lobster and more.
With its enviable coast, Cornwall has a plethora of beaches to choose from, with swimming, paddleboarding, water skiing, and boat rides all available. As the surfing mecca of the UK, Newquay is home to Britain’s premiere surfing spot, Fistral Beach. World-renowned, it hosts the Boardmasters International Surf Competition each year; whilst out of the water, Fistral and nearby Watergate Bay are the places to be for the annual five-day music festival, Boardmasters.
A gateway to the wild beauty of Cornwall, there is a plethora of local beaches and beauty spots. Crantoch Beach is a must-see with its epic sand dunes, perfect for exploring. Watergate Bay offers two miles of golden sand and a more peaceful environment, whilst a short drive will take you to the perfect rock-pooling spot at Porth Beach. Make sure you head out on the narrow footbridge to Porth Island for stunning views of the Cornish coastline.
On the South Coast, a trip to The Eden Project in St. Austell is only a thirty-minute drive, a perfect spot for families where you can walk amongst the dramatic tropical biomes and experience the sights and smells of the rainforest.
