Guests say

Driftwood in Exmouth is highly praised for its stunning views, convenient location, and the warm welcome provided by the hosts. Guests appreciate the well-equipped property, its proximity to local amenities, and the thoughtful touches like welcome packs. While there are some minor comments on cleanliness and parking, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests looking forward to returning.

Most guests found Driftwood to be clean and well-maintained, though there were a few isolated remarks about cleanliness issues such as tea stains and an unchecked tumble dryer. These appear to be exceptions rather than the rule.

The location is consistently lauded for its beautiful views, easy access to the beach, marina, town, and public transport. The convenience of the location contributes significantly to the positive experiences of the guests.

Guests describe the property as comfortable, with ample space for large groups and a relaxing atmosphere. The provision of daily parking permits and the property's amenities contribute to the overall comfort.

The property is well-stocked with kitchen appliances and other necessities. However, some guests noted low water pressure in showers and the absence of a mop, which suggests room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

The hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, providing welcome packs and essentials like milk, tea, and biscuits. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is politely noted that such gifts are a kind bonus and not guaranteed with every stay.

About this property

This three-storey, Victorian terrace house sits on a residential street right next to the beach, in the heart of Exmouth, Devon. Benefitting from private beach access and uninterrupted sea views, Driftwood is an excellent choice for a family of five and their canine companion looking to spend some time exploring the beauty of Devon. Internally, the ground-floor features an open-plan living space hosting all the amenities for a week-away; take over the kitchen and start preparing a delicious home-cooked feast, making use of a range of appliances, before gathering at the dining table and indulging in a feast. Afterwards, head to the sofa and binge watch your favourite shows from the Smart TV, or take the evening outside and enjoy a drink from the enclosed garden. At the rear of the garden is your own private access to the beach, so you’ll hardly have to leave the house before dipping your toes in the sand! The first flight of stairs leads to the bathroom with bath and shower over, whilst there are also three bedrooms, including a four-poster double bedroom and then a twin and double which can be combined to make a family suite or closed off separately. The second floor plays host to two more doubles, one which enjoys an en-suite shower whilst the other features sliding French doors to a private balcony with bistro table and chairs. Within a short walk there is a plethora of independent shops selling gifts to take back home, restaurants and pubs for when you fancy eating out and a cinema and theatre for some evening entertainment. Those looking to get their steps in can lace up their boots and ramble up to 26 miles along the Exe Cycle trail linking Lympstone with Exeter, Exmouth, Topsham and Dawlish as well as the South West Coastal Path which is the longest National Trail in the country. Further along, the city attractions of Exeter await, including its stunning cathedral and quay which make for an excellent day out, whilst the World of Country Life and Crealy Theme Park are both great choices for family adventure. If you are seeking a substantial home right next to the beach, look no further than Driftwood.

Exmouth, which is located on the eastern side of the River Exe estuary, contains all a traveller needs for a leisurely getaway. A flourishing coastal town with miles of sand beaches nearby, excellent coastal walking, everything for fishermen and sailors, proximity to Exeter, and a wealth of things to do and see all add to the town's appeal. The Crealy Park theme park, Bicton Park stately home and gardens, the Donkey Sanctuary at nearby Sidmouth, Woodbury Common, the cathedral city of Exeter, the Sandy Bay World of Country Life, and the endlessly captivating Jurassic Coast with its famous fossil deposits stretching eastward into Dorset are all options in addition to messing around on boats, relaxing on the beach, taking the ferry up the estuary, or visiting Dawlish Warren nature reserve. Exmouth has some of the best tourist attractions and a seaside lifestyle around.
