When it comes to days out, the Regency town of Sidmouth is a popular choice with the Donkey Sanctuary, sure to be a big hit with animal lovers. Lyme Regis, with its family-friendly beach and famous Cobb Harbour is another family favourite where you can try your hand at fossil hunting. Other popular day trips include the popular fishing village of Beer with its limestone cliffs and pretty beach where it is easy to lose a few hours sitting in a deckchair watching the local fishermen hauling their catches ashore. We had a wonderful time exploring the local area. Owner helpful without being intrusive, the cake was a delicious extra!

On the downside I had to pick up 4 piles of dog mess through the week because the farm collie jumps the wall/gate, so a fence and bigger gate should be invested in.
