Guests say

Guests have found Old Ford Farm Annexe to be a peaceful and comfortable retreat, with a welcoming host and a beautiful, wildlife-rich setting. The property offers a convenient base for exploring Devon, Dorset, and Somerset, with many praising its tranquillity and the surrounding farmland. While some noted the property could benefit from updates, the overall experience is highly regarded for its charm and the opportunity for a relaxing break.

The majority of guests have reported the annexe to be extremely clean, contributing to a comfortable stay. However, one review mentioned damp smells and an unclean bathroom, suggesting room for improvement in some areas.

The location is frequently described as idyllic and peaceful, with easy access to local towns and attractions. The proximity to major roads is appreciated for exploring the area, despite occasional mentions of traffic noise.

Comfort is a highlight, with guests enjoying the views, wildlife, and the cosy setting of the annexe. The property is deemed spacious and the beds comfortable, although some guests found the bathroom size and kitchen layout less convenient.

Facilities are generally well-received, with mentions of a well-stocked kitchen and thoughtful additions like grab rails. Some guests noted missing items or suggested the need for more cutlery and refurbishment, indicating that while adequate, the facilities could be enhanced.

While the host's warm welcome is consistently mentioned, there are insufficient details on thoughtful gestures such as gifts to accurately assess this category. Therefore, this score is set to null.

Old Ford Farm Annexe - in some ways - is rather dated and shabby. BUT it is in a beautiful situation in a lovely part of Devon. Yes, the Wi-Fi and mobile strength are both poor and variable. Yes, the bathroom is somewhat basic and small. Yes, the layout of the kitchen is awkward and inconvenient. But it is clean and comfortable - and is ideal for a relaxing holiday with a friendly and helpful host in the adjoining farmhouse. We have stayed in many Sykes cottages over the years and the Old Ford Farm Annexe is one of the best to sit outside and look at the view …. read ……have a coffee? glass of wine ? ….. have a snooze? This was our second visit and, hopefully, we will be back again.

We received a warm welcome from the owner. It was a great location and we particularly enjoyed the garden with its beautiful trees. We would be happy to return in future.
