Guests say

Guests consistently praise 'The Barn' for its spaciousness, beautiful gardens, and welcoming touches such as scones on arrival. The property's location is ideal for exploring Devon's coast and local towns. Facilities like the pizza oven and fire pit are popular, adding to the enjoyment of stays. The property's character and charm, alongside the thoughtful hosts, contribute to memorable family gatherings and holidays.

The Barn is generally regarded as clean, with many guests expressing satisfaction. However, one review mentioned a dirty floor, suggesting room for improvement. Overall, the cleanliness is highly rated, but the isolated feedback prevents a perfect score.

The location of The Barn is highly praised for its convenience to local amenities, beaches, and attractions. Guests appreciate the proximity to pubs and farm shops, as well as the ease of exploring the Jurassic Coast.

Comfort at The Barn is generally well-received, with guests enjoying the spacious accommodation and cosy atmosphere. Some guests found the beds too firm, which affects the score slightly, but overall the property provides a comfortable stay.

Facilities at The Barn are frequently commended, especially the well-equipped kitchen, pizza oven, and fire pit. There were minor comments about missing items like a pizza cutter and a mirror in one bedroom, but these do not significantly detract from the overall high standard of facilities.

The hosts of The Barn are noted for their thoughtfulness, with many guests mentioning the welcome pack of scones, cream, and jam. Fresh eggs and other touches were also appreciated. While these gifts are warmly received, it's important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

From one of the bedrooms you can throw open the patio doors and step out into the beautiful mature garden hosting some amazing wildlife including regular visits from Roe deer, badgers, fox and other creatures. The Barn is home to a summer breeding colony of Soprano Pipistrelle bats in the eaves; these beautiful protected creatures are absolutely harmless but can occasionally be heard moving around and chattering at dusk and dawn, giving the dwelling an extra unique touch. The patio area boasts ample seating and pizza oven, so you can dine outside on a warm summer day for a special occasion. The house is a short walk away from the local pub with a large river frontage garden, and local farm shop and cafe, while Honiton itself is a brisk 20 mins walk.
